Luto sighed as she moved the next piece of chess, sitting in front the once great General Iroh.

"What are you going to do with Zuko, Luto? He never listens to anyone but you," Iroh let's out a groan of frustration as he killed off one of Luto's horse. The general had asked Luto to accompany him for a game or two, but they've been sitting here for hours and hadn't even finished one single game. Iroh was great at strategies but so was Luto.

In the room, there was none other than Iroh, Luto and her pet bear, Tema. Tema was a cute brown bear with fluffy fur that Luto adored. He was no more older than 2 years, but he looked like he reached his maximum size ages ago, which was the size of a normal cub. Tema was lying it's head on Luto's lap, snoring softly.

"Hmm? He listens more to you than to me," Luto shrugged her shoulders, moving her king. "I'm just here to guide him in finding... the avatar," she sounded a little uncomfortable.

"Yes, yes of course," Iroh sighed. "He's not doing a very good job at it, don't you think so?" He looked up at the girl, watching her eyes as she thought long and hard on the chess game.

Luto was a pretty young girl, she has long straight hair and a pair of small, monolid brown eyes. Her skin was pale, like a lot from the fire nation tribe, though she might not come fully from there. The outfit she was wearing was home-made, it was slightly different than what all the girls used to wear in the fire nation. Everyone used to wear tunics and pants, but Luto liked wearing skirt. She was wearing a slightly modernised yukata with a red top and a darker red vest along with a brown, flowing skirt.

"I think he's doing a terrific job," Luto smiled, looking down at the chess board and not even once up at Iroh.

Iroh looked at her with slitted eyes, his hands touching his chin. "Is that so?" he mumbled.

They stayed silent as Iroh made one of his pawn go forward, blocking the entrance of Luto's queen.

"You've won."

"No, not yet," Iroh said, knowing very well what Luto would do once the game ended. "He needs some time to think alone. Let's finish this game with no regrets."

Just as the words left his mouth, the cabin door slammed open, Prince Zuko standing on the doorway. "Luto, Uncle, I need you."

"Let us finish this game of chess, Prince Zuko," Iroh said with his patient smile.

"I need you now!"

Luto still sat with her hands crossed over on her lap, "Please wait, Prince Zuko, the game hasn't ended yet."

The torches that lit up the room bursts for a moment, creating sparks everywhere, but the Iroh and Luto was already used to this. Zuko would have his little bursts every once in a while, but nothing too dangerous. When he gets too stressed out, he'll spar with Luto.

"Come meet me on the deck in FIVE minutes, and Luto?" Zuko turned his body to exit the room.

"Yes, Prince Zuko?"

"It's just Zuko."

Luto smiled her infamous eye smile as she watched the young prince slammed the door shut.

"You're lucky, Luto," Iroh groaned, making her turn to him. "I only get to call him 'prince'."

"Yeah," Luto smiled as Tema snored softly on her lap. Her hand went to rub his head.

"It's your turn," Iroh said, encouraging Luto to make her move.

"Ah, General," Luto smiled. "We were talking about Prince Zuko weren't we?"

Iroh sighed, what is she up to? He scanned the chess board, finding what's wrong about the way he was playing.

"Who knows a pawn could beat a king?" Luto giggled, knocking the white king off the board in one swift swing of her pawn.

"Amazing," Iroh said, his mouth agape. "As always, you're an excellent player."

"Thank you," she grinned, standing up, letting Tema's head fall to the pillow that she was sitting on. Luto bowed down to the general before exiting the room, walking towards the deck.
