Crimson Tears
Rain Crystal: Hello everyone! Here's the Anime Angel of Angst with another one shot for ya!
This story was actually somewhat inspired by dragondreamer99's excellent story called Masked Happiness. If you haven't already I suggest that you go and read it. I'm dedicating this story to her.
That's all that I have to say so without further ado here's the story. Please don't forget to review once you've finished to let me know what you think.
Sakura does this every night. She always stands before the mirror and asks herself why she exists. She thinks that she isn't of any use to anyone and that she only gets in the way. She thinks that she is weak and that everyone else finds her to be quite annoying. No one will ever over her, that is what she tells herself over and over again.
This is how Sasuke's departure has effected Sakura. Once she can no longer stand to look at her own reflection she walks over to the desk and picks up the picture of Team 7. She stares at Sasuke for insanely long periods of time and keeps wondering why he did it. Why did he have to leave her unconscious on that bench? She had begged to go with him on his journey and pledge all of her abilities to him. Why wasn't that enough?
Once that question was asked Sakura always reached for it. It was her one true friend now. It helped her to cry when she thought she'd had no tears left to shed.
Sakura pushed up her sleeve to reveal the scars left by her crimson tears. Some were deeper than others. Some were longer while others were hardly more than scratches. The extent of the cut depended upon the amount of emotional suffering she felt on a particular night. No matter what Sakura made sure to draw blood every time. Each droplet of blood was the equivalent of a tear she desperately needed to cry yet somehow could not. Thanks to a special kunai she was able to make up for her dry eyes with crimson colored tears.
On this particular night Sakura would cry for the final time. She held the bloodstained kunai in the air as she inwardly prepared for what she was about to do. She inhaled deeply, holding the breath inside of her as the blade traveled across her dainty wrist. She could feel herself growing weaker as she sunk to the floor. The room seemed to be spinning at nauseating fast speeds as she stared at the ceiling for the last time.
"You were right, Sasuke."
A single tear escapes her eye before they both close. Once her eyes are completely closed Sakura is able to see Sasuke one last time before her world goes completely black.
Sakura will never cry for him again.
