Talking to Shadows

....a poem by Jaclyn (musicnotej@aol.com)

So again he walks out the door; I am alone
And I say carefully, as if he were small
You hurt me, Chakotay, with your wounded
Looks and disappointed sighs
Don't you know I'm disappointed too?
Because I tried to show you how I felt
Through subtle glances and double-sided words,
But you don't seem to grasp it.
And I touch your arm for far too long
Until I catch myself, and then you say
I'm cruel for leading you on...
And the crew thinks I'm evil and maybe I am,
For I'm so lonely that I probably wouldn't notice.
