Musings
....a poem by Jaclyn (musicnotej@aol.com)
Moonscape :: Jaclyn's (Web) Space (http://www.geocities.com/moonscape0101)
Author's Note: This poem was inspired by Star Trek: Voyager's Janeway and Chakotay. At least, I think it must be, since, with a little stretch of imagination (commonly known as fanfic), I could see those characters in this position.

How did it come to this? she wondered
Where I hit you and you hit me
and the words we fling leave ugly black
stains on the bare walls
Why did my hair turned dull and stringy and
How come yours turned gray and lost its shine
My eyes turned greedy for what I don't believe exists
and yours sparked with fury for all I've withheld
Sometimes I toy with the idea of going back to you
I tell myself, it would be so easy to extend my hand
But I know I'm incapable and honestly, I don't know why
my heart stopped beating long ago
