When a Bomb Turns Bad

"What in the world?" Carson asked.

"What are you talking about?" K.J. asked back.

"This is the worst heat wave yet."

"Of course it is this is the hottest day of the year and we haven't had any water in weeks. Plus the river is running out of clean water because everyone is showering and they just don't know how to clean themselves in a spot further down the river."

K.J. and Carson are very close friends. They are so close that everyone who knows them calls them brothers. K.J. is a very smart kid that if you ask him a question that is on a twelfth grade question he can answer it so fast it'll make your head spin. Carson on the other hand is not that smart but is one of the cool athletic people who cares only about the closet people around him and about his reputation. Together those two make a very deadly combination because K.J. can help Carson in school and Carson can help K.J. on his reputation.

All of a sudden K.J. gets the feeling that they are being watched. There was movement behind them. "Be quite I think someone is keeping a close eye on us," he told Carson.

They were in a forest covered with thick shrubs and was dense with trees. They thought that only ones that knew about this secluded spot which everyone calls a clearing. It was deep in the forest and no one dared following them because everyone thought that the path to it was filled with poisonous snakes and poison ivy and oak.

"Okay we will head back and meet back here tomorrow and discuss about the person who is stalking us," Carson told K.J. as they headed out of the forest.

On their way out they heard the rustling of leaves and they found out who was stalking them. It was their old friend Anthony.

Anthony was an old friend who they used to hang out with in the clearing to so no wonder he knew where to find them.

"What do you want Anthony?" Carson asked.

"Evidently you guys haven't heard of that new nuclear bomb factory in Maycomb, Alabama. It closed almost all of the other shops besides the food shops because you have to eat."

"I can't believe that they built that so fast I mean they only work on it at night. If they just let me helped I could've helped out a lot because I am the smartest and strongest teen in town," Carson started to rant on about how he was better that everyone else.

Now this is what set K.J. off the edge with their friendship.
