We Remember
We remember the very first day in the very first book when we met the Dursleys and hated them instantly.
We remember Hagrid's scratchy kiss as he drops Harry off.
We remember seeing that little boy turn in his sleep and realizing that we are already rooting for him.
We'll Never Forget
Our feelings at EVERY SINGLE point in each book and how they went from happy to sad to confused and back again.
How no matter how much Petunia and Vernon thought otherwise, we knew, and Harry knew, that Dudley always looked like a pig in a wig.
The letters coming through the mail slot, down the stairs, through the windows, and of course, down the chimney.
Harry's first trip to Diagon Alley, when we were as shocked as him.
We Were Amazed
That wizards never knew how silly they looked when they dressed up as Muggles.
How Hagrid never really understood that Fluffy was dangerous. And Norbert. And Blast-Ended Skrewts, more Dragons, giants and more.
That Draco Malfoy could make himself hated at the first time he was met, and how we hated him too.
We Laughed When
Whenever Gred and Forge opened their mouths. Anytime. Ever.
When Ron tried his first magic on the train and failed miserably. In front of his future wife.
When Neville lost his toad and found it in front of McGonagall. Poor Neville couldn't do anything right.
When Harry described his cousin.
When J.K. Rowling described his cousin.
Whenever Dudley was described.
We Were Shocked When
We realized how the Dursleys treated Harry. (I mean, come on, he's just a kid!)
The snake talked. And then proceeded to escape.
When a certain young, bossy, bushy-haired witch entered our compartment and told us Neville lost his toad.
When we realized we liked these strange books.
We Will Miss
Fred and George's hilarious tricks.
Wanting to beat up the Dursleys anytime we saw them.
The Hogwarts Express.
Diagon Alley.
Hogwarts.
Harry.
