AN - I love Nao. She's just one of the most awesome characters of the entire Mai Hime series.
So, this will be a series of small ficlets devoted to Nao, as I explore the different relationships and friendships that she could have ^^
All About Nao
Nao sat at the same outdoor table before the little coffee and tea shop, on the same corner every day.
Every day she'd watch a beautiful honey-haired brunette walk in, always accompanied by her 'shadow' who was a raven-haired girl.
Though on some days the chestnut-haired beauty stepped into the shop alone, and it was on those days that Nao almost worked up the courage to go talk to her.
A simple 'hello' or 'how do you do?' or even 'can I steal you away from your girlfriend, and have you come home with me?' would all have been great conversation starters.
Nao always shook her head at these crazy, inappropriate thoughts though and settled back into her seat, to watch the couple as they laughed and stayed close together.
It always broke Nao's heart as she had known the honey-brunette in high school. She had had a crush on her even from then, but the tawny-haired female only had eyes for the dark-haired female even back then.
And once they graduated Nao had lost close contact with the object of her affections.
Nao knew she had lost the battle for the chestnut-haired girl's heart from the start. But she couldn't stop herself from looking on...wishing...hoping...wanting.
It was not meant to be though, and she knew that.
She could only hope that one day, the object of her deepest affections and desires would look her way...notice her...smile at her...and walk towards her...
So, that's why the day that it finally actually happened, Nao could do nothing more than to stare in complete shock, her breathing coming out in deep hard puffs, and her face flushed a deep crimson-red.
Shizuru Fujino was coming her way...to her...and Nao couldn't have wanted it any other way.
