Chapter 1

After my mother left me, my life with the twolegs was a blur. I searched for my littermates, but I never found them… Until now. I had made plans to leave my twolegs and keep my promise to my mother. I would find the clans no matter what it cost me. My name is Sol, and this is my story.

I was sitting close to my home, basking in the warm sunlight of the afternoon. My mother had left me and separated me from my littermates. She left me with some kind housefolk who call me Harry. They feed me and take care of me, but I always missed my mother. Before she left I made her a promise. I promised her that I'd find the clans from the stories that she told me and my siblings when we were just small kittens. "Sol…? Is that you?" I heard a soft voice call to me from behind my back. Could it be… No. My sister Sira left to live with twolegs far from where I was. It was impossible that she came this far from her home. I turned around to see a young cream-and-white long haired cat standing behind me. "Sira!? Is it really you?" I exclaimed. "Yes. It's me." She replied. Suddenly I was wary. "Prove that you're really my sister. What were the stories that my mother told when I was small about?" I asked. "Sol…" She whispered. "How could you be so cold? I'm your sister." She said, her eyes clouded with hurt. "Just answer my question." I hissed. "Fine. They were about fierce warriors. Fierce warriors that never have and never will exist. I know that you want to search for them." She said. "I can see it in your eyes." I was surprised that she still knew me this well. "I am. These clans do exist, and I'm going to keep believing this, no matter what other cats tell me." I retorted. "Okay. if you believe in them this much, I might as well come with you and help you… well, since you're going to keep searching forever, I'll have to help you stay alive." She sighed. "Wait a second. I never said that you're coming with me on this journey. You're going to stay right here. I'm never going to let a non-believer come with me on this journey." I said. And with that I whirled around and began my long journey to find my destiny. For the next while I just walked through a maze of houses, trying to escape twoleg-place. I trekked on through the whole day, until I finally found someone who I could trust.
