Title: Birthday Surprise
Rating: M for Murder (I'm slightly paranoid)
Pairings: None
Warnings: AU. Slightly twisted Ryou

Well, this was something I came up with during my lunch break the other day at work and it seemed like a decent idea. I really need to get around to updating my other stories though... Enjoy!

~~Birthday Surprise~~

It was surprising, the amount of sheer power flowing off of him. I was getting scared – was this Bakura's doing or was Ryou really that powerful? 'Only one way to find out' I thought with a sigh. "Bakura?" He turned to look at me, allowing a view of his warm chocolate eyes. Slowly he shook his head. I gulped. "R-Ryou?"

He nodded while smiling a small, twisted smile. The lack of emotion in his eyes causing me to shudder slightly. "Why?" was all I could think to ask. "Cause big brother says you must go, and I agree. I thought he'd like my present."

"What are you talking about?" My mind was racing. Ryou had this twisted habit of referring to Bakura as his older brother. For some reason, Bakura allowed it. I felt Rou's power wash over me, trying to suffocate me.

"You make big brother angry all the time. I want him to smile again!" With that he pulled a knife from his jacket. "I thought I'd use his favourite knife."

I gulped. 'This is it, I'm going to die.' A sharp pain in my neck was the last thing I felt before the world faded into black.

I couldn't help it, I started giggling. The surprised look on his face was still there – even after I chopped his head clean off. It was so funny.

"Ry-Ry! Where are you?" Kura's menacing lilt floated through the house. Looks like his timing was perfect, as usual. "Up here Kura!" I answered back with excitement clear in my voice.

I counted his footsteps as he jogged up the stairs though I had to strain to hear him walk towards my studio door. Brother was being as silent as ever. Then I heard an intake of breath. I turned around still holding my brush. Brother was standing in the doorway with a giddy grin on his face. "So this is what you've been up to all day."

I nodded and turned back to my painting with a huge smile on my face. "Your present is on the table big bro. I just need to finish this before the blood dries." "Thanks kiddo, you know you didn't have to get me anything right? And who's blood are you usi-"

I turned around to check his reaction. He had a look of pure happiness on his face. I snuck up behind him and hugged him. "Happy birthday Kura." He barely even nodded. I smiled and looked to where he'd unwrapped his present.

There, on a silver platter, was the head of none other than the Pharaoh – bloody, lifeless and still looking slightly shocked.

I smiled and snuggled back into my big brother's shoulder. I'd finally made him happy again.

Thanks for reading.
