PROLOUGE—
They lined up, souls gnarled and disgraced for such evil transgressions; Contorted and diseased in complexion and from sadness. Yet, I stood apart from the rest of these people. I watched them descend to the damned vessels prepared by the emperor's own. Now assigned to the four pillars that pay tribute to Him; the first, Cania to the west, Antenora in the North, Ptolomea in the South and the east…Judecca.
But I suffer a punishment far worse than these damned souls. I serve as an advisor to Lucifer's brother, Beleth. And, I am to find worth souls that will bear the Mark of the Beast. It is by my hand that I created more of Hell's new army. But, I only suffer this pain to shield my family from the woe and miseries of this brewing war; especially my eldest from the hands of Beleth. I found myself gazing to the Great King, noticing how he drove on the suffering by flaming whip .Also prompting the Shadow knights to divide the damned I saw the first line of souls driven to the ships for punishment in this newly constructed Hell, either to the cities or to the Four Pillars. The second line of diseased souls, pushed to become the vast cavalry to the Infernal Empire Army. In my heart, I wished to ask Him a question, but my throat became dryer than this sickened earth. Before words could even assemble, the flaming whip ceased its torment; a gargantuan head of the beast turning back to me.
Beleth's gaze was steely and aglow with Crimson; his jaw unhinged, the jowls unsealing to let forked tongue lash a bit. To support himself, he arose letting tremendous hand settle to the heated marble floors of the balcony. The muscles of his arm flexing and flaming veins coursing through soot flesh, now a normal sight to my eye. A shaggy mane of jet settling at his back and shoulders in an unruly mess to hide the burning marks of the War in heaven long ago; Burned lips parting to let scorching breath release itself in what was an elated sigh, and make the hairs on my neck stiff.
"You desire a request..."
With my fear settling it a bit, I could nod and reply. "Yes my King, I worry for my wife and daughters."His gaze softens on a miniscule amount. His left hand reached out beyond his perch clawed middle finger and index piercing the mirror that lay in front of my persona. Warm radiant light fragmenting to show a depiction of what game me delight; The Gardens of Sagun enveloped within the warm ambient serenity of my God. My wife, beside the river doing the needle work she had done as always in our old home. My youngest daughter at the streams of the river, gathering water for the beautiful Villa Home; But my eldest, where was she? In a fit of fright I searched frantically through the mirror to find my child. And to my heart's content, she was standing in the Gardens, a small bundle in hand with one of God's own touching her arm and that bundle. A warm, radiant smile upon my daughter's face to the bundle and that angel…
Comfort and relief washed over me, but it had been so long that I am a grandfather now? I touched the shining face of the mirror the yen of seeing my beloved wife and family at its strongest. But, it ended when Beleth's fingers left the mirror. That wonderful image of my beloved wife, family and new grandchild dissipating from my eyes. Beleth remarked, with a sinister grin. "Come now Lucas, we have a quota to fill for our Emperor." I only kept silent, nodding while turning away from the mirror to the home of our ancestors. My sadness rekindled only slightly.
The sky burned.
The earth Boiled.
And again, I turn away resuming my paperwork, only one question relevant.
"Am I wrong for this..?"
