Quick Author's Notes: I just watched the movie two days ago. I immediately fell completely in love with it; I desperately hope this short fic is good enough. I was thinking of this as I watched the scene in the movie.

Alive Again

The small blades were shining and cold in his fingertips. Sweeney Todd turned one razor—his favourite, his most precious friend—about with his fingers. He flipped the razor open cleverly, and was delighted when he found he could still do it after all this time. He smiled when he saw his own twisted face reflected in the polished silver. Yes, polished, it was; his razors were still as bright and shining as though they were just newly bought.

He held the razor up in the dim, grey light. It glistened beautifully, so sharp. So deadly. His grin grew, and he turned to Mrs. Lovett.

"These are my friends, Mrs. Lovett," Sweeney explained. "My bright, shining, clever silver friends..."

"I know, Mr. Todd," Mrs. Lovett breathed, nodding slightly. "S'why I kept 'em there in the first place..."

"Thank you," Sweeney murmured, his voice almost inaudible now. He turned away from Mrs. Lovett and brought the razor close to his face, placing a small kiss on the gleaming metal.

"Exactly as I left them..." he whispered, to himself rather than Mrs. Lovett. "Exactly...they are perfect, the silver is not tarnished, nor the blade dull..." Sweeney trailed off and made a wide, slashing motion with his arm.

"Hah!" he cried. "My friends, we shall work wonders!"
