This is only the previewbeginning. It's short but will get longer.
"Everything is settled, now keep away." The man at the writing table said as his eyes drifted from the twosome staring down at him and to his open book.
The young girl stared at his brother; her eyes were moist. He only clenched his fists in return. They left the room without a word.
As soon as they were far enough to escape eavesdroppers, they spilled their complaints. The boy glared back at the door as he exclaimed, "I can't believe this! I want to be a sorcerer, not any old knight!"
The girl raised her purple eyes in defiance, "That's what you care about? What I can't believe is the way he treats us. We're his children and he ignores us."
"That's because you get to live your life the way you want. You can become the sorceress you wanted to be and what of me? I'll be suffering while you learn everything I ever and only wanted."
"It's what I wanted too. Anyways, being a knight is an honor and maybe you'll like it."
"You mean actually enjoy getting thumped on everyday? Not likely!"
"Give it a chance. Please, Thom, let's not fight over this! You're the only real family I have."
"I'm sorry Alanna, you're right. At least one of us Trebond twins got what we wanted."
"It just might change to at least both of us."
