Mei sighed. She was utterly and completely bored. She'd flipped through holo-tv channels looking for something to watch but there was nothing even remotely interesting on. She'd read all the fashion magazines that had come out that month. She had nothing to do and since Sinedd was in the shower she couldn't even do nothing with him.

She wanted to go shopping but it really was only half the fun when you went alone and she had no-one to go with. She had thought that the Snow Kids were backwards when it came to fashion but they had nothing on the Shadows. Despite being the only team-mate really being interested in clothes (what else was to be expected when your team was mostly male?) at least she'd been able to convince someone to at least come along with her as a favour. Unfortunately, trying to convince the Shadows to do anything they really didn't want to do, usually involved using threats which was a level that Mei was reluctant to stoop to. Not to mention they probably would laugh in her face if she tried.

The Shadows all wore so much black, even off the field. Mei knew that black was slimming but honestly how much slimming did the Shadows really need? She had thought that being around other models was bad for making you feel insecure about your weight but being around the Shadows was even worse.

She'd managed to convince Sinedd to brighten up his wardrobe (she'd had to buy the clothes herself though) but her attempts to make over the rest of the team had been extremely unsuccessful. She couldn't say that she was particularly fond of the fluorescent green accents on the Shadows Uniform but she knew better than try to suggest that they change this, she was the newest recruit to the team after all- she wasn't really in a position to complain.

In some ways the Shadows were more relaxed, her sharing a room with Sinedd wasn't really an issue with them but such a thing would never have occurred under Aarch's guardianship- he insisted that boys and girls should sleep in separate rooms even when they had been dating as long as Tia and Rocket had. (He didn't seem to object to mixed changing rooms though.) But for the most part she found the Shadows to be very uptight; she had to admit she didn't fully grasp the hierarchical form of society that the Shadows practiced. Socialising with the Shadows was intimidating and not at all simple or easy. Mei had never raised this point to Sinedd, she didn't think he'd noticed, either that or he'd just become so used to it over the years.

The Bathroom door opened, steam flooding into the room, Sinedd walked out- his hair pleasantly messy from having just been washed. Mei got up to give him a hug. She wasn't sure why, she hadn't felt compelled to hug D'jok every time he came out of the shower, but she'd been finding herself become even more physically affectionate with Sinedd than she had been previously.

She could smell the sweet scent of his hair as she buried her face into his shoulder.

"Are you using the shampoo I bought you?" Mei asked.

Sinedd rolled his eyes but with the position they were in Mei couldn't see that.

"Of course I am."

That's it for this fic; it's kind of random, I know. Please review!
