Disclaimer: I don't own Animal Crossing, Bleach, or anything else.

I hate this.

Why did it have to be us?

Couldn't they have sent someone else?

Couldn't they just abort the mission?

This is madness.

This is insanity!

"This is our ride," Ichigo said, tousling his hair through his gloves. "Let's go…" He got off the bench and walked to the platform. The incoming metro was stopping at our station. "I wonder why the metro comes so late at night. It's near closing time." I stood up and stretched my arms. "A town with fluctuating reiatsu. Soul Society really expects us to investigate? The lazy jerks." I yawned. "And in the middle of winter," Ichigo said as the train pulled in. "Sometimes I wonder what they're doing with their free time."

I looked around. We were the only people on the platform. That was odd.

"Hurry up! The doors are opening." Ichigo hollered. "Right. Sorry," I yawned again, managing to follow him inside. The doors slowly closed behind me. "When are we going to get there? I don't want to wait on this old train," I groaned, lying down on some seats. We were the only people in the car. As was expected. Ichigo held on to a handle. "What are you talking about? This is a bullet train." I sat up in my seat. "A bullet train? Why didn't you tell me that earlier?" I pouted. "It's too late now." Ichigo smirked.

"You idiot!" I screamed as the train lurched forward.

~Next Stop: Animal Forest~ Based on 'Population: Growing'. A Bleach and Animal Crossing crossover.

"Don't want to fall asleep…don't want to fall asleep…don't wanna fall…asleep…" I heard Ichigo mutter under his breath. He yawned again. The train was moving slower than ever. "We apologize for the sudden delay, as we are experiencing some technical difficulties. Please sit tight, and don't try to leave the passenger cars." The conductor announced over the intercom. "Ichigo, sorry I yelled at you. Looks like this is going to be a long ride, whether it's a bullet train or not." I apologized to him. "Doesn't matter. I'm going to sit…" He plopped down on a seat and folded his arms across his chest.

"We need something to pass the time," I said. "Yeah, this reminds me of a song…" Ichigo looked up at the ceiling and tried to think. "Oh! Don't Stop Believin'!" He shouted. "Tatsuki taught me that song!" I exclaimed. "That song fits this situation perfectly. How I'd love to hear it right now…" Ichigo grumbled. "Why don't I play it for you guys? It's the least I could do." The conductor asked over the intercom. "You can hear us?" I shouted. "No, but I can see you through a mirror…I read lips." The conductor replied. "Play that funk!" We both shouted.

A few seconds later, music started playing in the passenger car. I recognized the rhythm. Don't Stop Believin'. "Want to sing with me?" I suggested to Ichigo. "Sing? With you?" He had a questionable look on his face. "Just once? Please?" I pleaded. He stared at me. "It's not like there's anything else to do." He said hesitantly. It was time to start singing. I gulped. "Just a small town girl…" I awkwardly sang. "…living in a lonely world. She took the midnight train going anywhere." Ichigo frowned again. He cleared his throat. "Just a city boy, born and raised in south Detroit…" He sang a little flat. "He took the midnight train going anywhere."

"A singer in a smoky room,"

"The smell of wine and cheap perfume,"

"For a smile they can share the night,"

"It goes on,"

"And on,"

"and on,"

"and on!"

Soon, we were having our own dance party in the passenger car before the conductor told us the party was over. Then he dimmed the lights in our car and we fell asleep.
