Something Amiss

I wrote this fic mostly as a help for myself and as a way to relieve some of my feels for these guys. I used a scene from Scrubs (Season 3, episode 14) as the main idea source and then applied and evolved it to fit to Magi. I own nothing and I hope you guys enjoy this small fic ^_^

"I thought you'd come dressed up!" Alibaba scolded Kassim as they walked through the streets of Balbad. It was mid-afternoon and the sun was radiating a warm glow around the whole city, bouncing and reflecting the light in it's many rivers. "Hey, do you see any wholes in these pants?" Kassim retorted.

He was still wearing his usual slum attire but at least he was clean and no clothes were ripped for once. Alibaba made a face "No."

"Well then there you go. Stop complaining." Kassim was silent for a few moments before he said "I'm glad you came back." Alibaba nodded his agreement "It's good to be back after so long. It's been at least a year now, hasn't it?" Shrugging his shoulders, Kassim walked ahead for a few steps before stopping in front of a vacant lot and faced Alibaba. "Look, you have got to stop blaming yourself for what happened. It wasn't your fault."

"What are you talking about? I don't- don't be stupid!" Alibaba said, attempting to shrug it off with a casual comment and a smile. The other was not amused however and stared deadpan at him. Alibaba sighed and put his hands on his hips. "Oh al-right then". Hearing this, Kassim smiled at Alibaba and nodded, satisfied. "Good."

They stood in silence for a few moments before the blonde prince decided to lighten the mood "So...aren't you going to light a cigar and take a smoke?"

"And why is that?"

Alibaba turned to find a sad-faced Aladdin a few paces behind him, holding his staff in his hands.

"You know, to show off in front of the others and act all cool like, like usual." he said with a sideways grin.

After a pause, Aladdin replied; "Where do you think we are, Alibaba-kun?"

Alibaba's expression froze and his eyes began to move as he slowly looked around himself and his grin dropped. The two of them were standing alone in front of an old tree in the middle of the city. He clenched his eyes shut and slowly opened them again. The vacant lot had been the place of Mariam's grave. Next to hers, newly placed, was another mound of dirt and a small, smooth rock with KASSIM written on it. There was no other trace of a person being there except for himself and Aladdin. Everything was still.

"Are the Rukh playing tricks on me?" he asked the gravestone.

"No, this was not the Rukh's doing, Alibaba-kun."

"Then what? Am I becoming a delusional idiot or what?"

"Your mind still needs time to adjust. Don't second guess yourself, you made the right choice. You did."

"I know." Looking down, Alibaba quietly walked over the makeshift grave and headed towards the opposite end of the square. "But that doesn't make loosing him any easier."

He saw Morgiana in the distance, waiting at the ship to take them back again. Aladdin was jogging to catch up with him. Accepting that someone is gone is sometimes the hardest thing a person ever has to do in their lives. The thing you've got to remember, is that no matter how painful it might be, or how difficult it is to move on, there are still people around you that will get you through it.

THE END :)

If some of what they said or did was unclear, it was because it was meant to be. You are not really suppose to know what was going on until afterwards. Reviews would be appreciated!
