The moment: Part 1
Disney captured a moment in time, that will be remembered by a a few and forgotten by many. That moment changed entire lives, even though it only lasted for a little while. Still, some people see that moment in their dreams; hoping to never forget it and never let it die. They know that they aren't cool enough to have a life as wonderful as that moment frozen in time. Even the people who created that moment have moved on and haven't been in contact for at least 10 years. Even they still dream about that moment in their dreams because its a magical moment. But one girl ruined that moment. But not on purpose, she didn't know his intentions when she said yes to him. She didn't know what path she was choosing, only that she loved him and that it was enough. Don't blame her for it, it happens to a lot of people. Only on a smaller scale, when only a couple are watching. She just forgot that the world was watching her and that's only natural. Because the 2 of them and their crew became famous overnight, only hoping to jumpstart their career. They never imagined that they would create a worldwide phenomenon. Everyone blames her for it, but they should blame him because he told her it would be their little secret. But that's just it, he lied. He let it loose for the world to see with intensions unknown to us. The 2 of them were very private understandably. I mean how would you react if people were following you everywhere you went capturing everything you did. She felt the pressure rising, but didn't know how to stop it. She handled the scandal very well for an 18 year old girl, in fact she handled it better than anyone had ever done so in the past. She was clearly ready for such a thing.
Still to this day, that very scandal affects her career, but she's doing everything she can in her power to fix the damage its done. But you see it still wasn't her fault, it was his. But as "Mr. Hot" Disney thought it better to blame the girl instead. The secret is still kept between them, never to be shared to a soul. And people continue to underestimate her without a second thought. She tries her best everyday to look pretty. She keeps silent about everything bad that happens to her in this business, even though it makes her suffer. All she keeps in the front of her mind is, " what if their respect for me disappears because I speak up?" See she's got it backwards, but with the way her life is I can understand why.
But now that moment is just a moment in time that is seen magical by only a small handful of people that grew up with it. That moment itself is underestimated and shamed because of that scandal that 18 year old girl had happen to her. She was supposed to be a "role model". Disney got rid of her because they thought she had failed as a role model, but if you ask me I still see her as one. See, she taught me thats its ok to make mistakes. Why? Because we are all not perfect. She taught us how to have grace in our darkest hour, how to act when the world judges you. How to turn the other cheek when everyone around you doesn't. To me thats a good role model. And its the world's problem if they can't see that in her. But I'm just a fan girl living in Austin, TX doing nothing but what I'm supposed to do. Which means there's little room for creativity and dreaming and making an injustice right. As a girl with lots of learning challenges and high grade expectations, there's little room to be a hero or a teacher. There's only room to learn and to do what you're told. So I guess its time to say goodbye to that moment happening again in real life, even if it gave me the room to be creative and live on the edge. But I will always remember it in my mind forever, no matter who tells me its wrong. That moment is my special place, my escape from this harsh world where I'm told I can't survive.
Sometimes you've just got to understand that all good things have an end. People are forgotten, shamed, and no longer "magical". That's just life, and that's how it works. Sometimes I wonder what Disney is doing, and I hate them for it! Because they bring back other "magical moments" that they think will work, but see that's the thing it won't. We need that moment back between the girl and the boy that fell in love and made our lives a lot less horrible.
But that moment will forever be left frozen in time, forgotten by many, remembered by a few and the girl will remain ashamed and disrespected. And I will always be stuck in an unforgiving world forced to do things to "survive" and doomed to an unfair and sad world.
