LETTING GO

Spoilers: This story includes everything up to Season 3

Summary: John¡¯s thoughts during his parting with Aeryn in ¡®Dog with Two Bones¡¯. Well here we go¡

John watched as Aeryn¡¯s Prowler disappeared from view. Another thing he loved was gone. First it was his mother, then Earth and now Aeryn.

¡°Sometimes you just have to let go of the things you love,¡± John muttered to himself. It was one of the last things he remembered his mother saying to him.

John cried into his mother¡¯s shoulder.

¡°Why are you killing him? I hate you.¡±

¡°John sometimes you can¡¯t stop these things. Rover¡¯s old. He¡¯s in a great deal of pain.¡±

His mother¡¯s voice echoed in the back of his mind. Some things were meant to be remembered like his mother¡¯s good advice and other things were meant to be lost.

¡°But I don¡¯t want him to go. He¡¯s not dying. You¡¯re killing him. He¡¯s not meant to die.¡±

¡°John not all things last. Rover¡¯s not going to live forever. Neither will you or I. Part of living means you have to learn to accept death and cherish the time you do get with the ones you love.¡±

John got ready to return to Moya but part of him still hoped that Aeryn would turn back. It wasn¡¯t easy letting go.

¡°I don¡¯t want him to go. I¡¯ll miss him.¡±

¡°John. If you love him not even death will stop you from being with him. He¡¯ll be up in heaven and he¡¯ll be happy.¡±

Everybody was gone. D¡¯Argo, Chiana, Rygel¡ and Aeryn¡ his one true love.

¡°But I love Rover.¡±

¡°Sometimes you just have to let go of the things you love.¡±

¡°I guess you¡¯re right Aeryn. I love you and it¡¯s up to fate now. It brought me to you and I hope it¡¯s going to do it again.¡± John sighed as he powered Farscape up getting ready to return to his home.
