"JUNE!" I screamed. She didn't see the bullet that Thomas had shot in her deraction. It was to late. She crumpled to the ground, just like my mother, a pool of blood surrounding her. I fell to my knees just before I woke up. I woke up to a noise that immediately had me sitting up. It wasn't the constant jolt and shudders of the train car. It was quiet. My eyes followed the sound to… June. She was on the other end of the train car. Her legs were curled into a ball with her head sitting on top of her knees. There were tears streaming down her face. Her bloodshot eyes glanced up to me as I quickly moved over to her. Pulling her to my chest, she closed her eyes and rested her head onto my shoulder. I wanted to tell her that everything was going to be alright, that she was safe and had nothing to worry about. But that would be lying and she would know it. The only I thing I could do is hold her close and stroke her hair. After awhile her tears dried. We sat like that for a long time. Finally I pulled away from her. I stared into her beautiful gold specked eyes. "What were you crying about?" I asked. She looked down at her lap. "My dog." she mumbled. "Your dog." I repeated. "I know it probably sounds stupid. I mean he's just a dog. But he is the one thing that I have that connects me to my brother. And now that I will never see my dog again… I have nothing." She whimpered. "What's your dogs name." I wondered. "Ollie." Her voice barely a whisper. I took her chin in my hand then lifted her head so that we were looking at each other again. "I can't tell everything is going to be alright, but it breaks my heart to see you crying." Instead of answering, she put her arms around my neck and kissed me. I was immediately filled with fire and passion. We couldn't get enough of each other. When she finally broke away we were both gasping for air. She immediately curled into a ball and leaned into my side. With one arm I pulled her closer to me. She sighed and rested her head on my chest. I went back to stroking her hair. "You're wrong" She whispered. "About what?" Surprise filling my voice. "If I'm with you, everything will be alright." She looked up at me. I kissed her forehead. "As Long as I'm with you."
