Holding Keine's soft hand. That's what she missed most of all. No, maybe it was drinking her tea? It was so bitter and awful but Mouko always drank it and smiled. She had never thought someone Japanese could be so bad at making tea, the thought made her laugh and shake her head.
What were some of the other things she'd missed? The way her hair smelled and that one time she'd found Mouko after a fight with Kaguya. Mouko had awaken to a flustered Keine, the first time she'd seen her flustered and panicked. Her expression had been really cute and she'd smiled and ended up with a slap.
Touching her cheek, the young woman stared up at the full moon. Keine would get so moody about now, anytime Mouko would come in, boots tracking dirt, she'd get a good punch. The teacher would smack Mouko real good on nights like these. The memories made her smile and cry. It had been a long time.
Briefly, Fujiwara no Mouko wondered if Keine could be reborn but… maybe she couldn't be until Mouko died? That would never happen and it hurt. If Keine could be reborn… Mouko would wish her all the best and watch over her until she died. Just as she did before.
Keine's house. Mouko's legs had brought her here and she grimacedat the dilapidated state it was in. Keine would have given her a good scolding for the condition it was in.
She would spend some time fixing it and making it livable but she could never live there. Too many happy memories. Memories she wanted to keep in her heart, not live in. If she could make the house it would serve as a memorial.
To the best person in the world.
Smiling her usual, cheeky smile, the white-haired immortal lay on the ground beside the painstakingly, beautifully carved headstone. "I'm home!"
Keine Kamishirasawa.
Teacher, Human, Were-Youkai
Loved by all.
And right next to 'all' was a little message scratched by Mouko.
Remembered forever.
"That's right Keine, I'll remember you for all eternity. Please live on in my heart."
