It's just a one-shot that I thought up one day. It won't ever happen, but I felt like making Eragon actually wise, and Arya stunned. Oh ya, and I don't own Eragon. That's why I'm posting this on FF and not FP. Anyway, here it is:

Eragon was sitting at the edge of a lake when Arya walked up. His back was toward her, and she silently walked forward. Eragon turned his head to look at her, then went back to throwing rocks in the pond. He said nothing when Arya seated herself beside him.

"Eragon?" She asked, with a slight annoyed tone in her voice.

"Hmm?"

"Why… why are humans so... rash?" Eragon turned to look at her, then sighed and leaned back.

"Think of it this way… If you knew you were going to die in forty years, would you just sit by and let the time pass? Would you go out, adventure, see the world? Would you look for love, look for fights, to see what emotions felt like? Would you shy away from other people, if you knew that in thirty years, you would never see one again?" He turned back to the lake. "I'm not human anymore… but I was. And, I still act like one sometimes… most of the time…" He looked at her again. "Many of the humans you see will die in thirty, forty years, if this war doesn't already kill them. You know that. But have you really thought about it?" He got up, and walked away, leaving a stunned Arya sitting at the edge of a lake. Humans may be rash, she thought, but I guess that's just the way they are…

The end! Short, but sweet... hopefully. Review, please?
