In Memory of L; The Sweetest Anime/ Manga Character Ever
L was paranoid, overanalyzing, and had a fierce sweet tooth, but was loved by otaku everywhere, near and far. In loving memory of L. Lawliet, I dedicate this poem and the speech which follows it.
L was the weirdest of the best
You can forget the rest.
Ryuzaki was the 'sweetest'
And sometimes the meanest,
Yet I promise you,
He will not be forgotten by you or me,
For that's just how things will always be.
In loving memory of L. Lawliet,
The greatest person you'll ever meet.
L was the best anime and manga character there ever was, and it'll be a long time until Death Note fans forget him. For some he was Kira's greatest victory; for others, the task forces greatest defeat. Yet for others he was the only thing we watched Death Note for while waiting for a show to come on. He did not die in vain; Kira was defeated. After several years, just as his "ideal" world was nearing completion, Yagami Light died of a heart attack during a confrontation with Near, L's true heir. L's role in this victory will never be forgotten; his hard work and dedication led the task force to discover several crucial things about Kira; how he killed, where he lived, and so on and so forth. He suspected Yagami Light until the very end, and though he didn't have his proof until the moment of his death, when Light's jeering face appeared above him, he was always correct. Goodbye, L. We will never forget you.
