BUFFY'S CHRISTMAS SONG - Summary: Buffy has picked out a Christmas song to sing for the faculty Christmas show. Xander and Dawn think it fits Buffy a little too well (Season 7). Disclaimer: I still don't own them although I have hopes they will be in my stockings on Christmas. The song 'Santa Send me a Fella' is by Sam Denoff & Bill Persky. Originally sung by Rosemarie - so not mine either.

Buffy's Christmas Song

By Teri

"Okay guys, I have to practice for the faculty Christmas show tonight. Tell me what you think." Buffy said to Dawn and Xander, who were sitting on the couch after agreeing to be her victims. . .er test audience.

Buffy walks over and hits play on her stereo and soft music begins to play and she begins to sing:

Dear Santa,

I recall each Christmas when I was a child, Santa's gifts would make my little hear grow wild, but now that I am a women fully grown, there is just one gift I'd really love to own.

The music switches to an upbeat tempo, jazzy beat. Buffy begins a small routine.

Santa, send a fella into my life,

someone who is shopping around for a wife.

I would like to order something Cary Granty,

but I'd even settle for a James Durante

Santa send a fella, that's my request,

as long as he's still breathing he passes the test.

"That's a good test, especially in this town." Xander whispers to Dawn who giggles.

Forget the fancy paper and the pretty bows,

just wind him up, Santa, and let him go.

Now your answer may be "Dear Madam,

it is better to give than to receive."

And my reply will be "you're right!

Give me an Adam on Christmas Eve."

Xander whispers to Dawn again. "Well, ADAM may not be such a good idea."

I'll be waiting dear Santa, don't let me down,

there must be lots of bachelors all over town.

If he is old or young or short or tall, he's my cup of tea.

Santa send a fella to me.

"Cup of tea? She's been talking to Giles again." Dawn whispers to Xander.

If Mister Cupid knows about my lack of affection,

how comes his arrows have such a lousy sense of direction?

"Obviously, Cupid is no Slayer." Xander whispers again.

They say the army builds men. I wish they'd build one for me.

Xander deadpans, "They tried to."

"Oh no" Dawn gasps trying not to laugh.

Santa . . . send a fella to me.

The music ends. Buffy stops sing and for the first time takes a good look at her test audience only to see Xander and Dawn laughing hysterically.

"I thought it was a good song. Thanks guys." She says pleased with herself and walks away.
