This was very random and I'm not sure where the prompt came from. But I hope you enjoy ! There is no actual plot so you can feel free to imagine what made Tohru upset.

Kyo wasn't the one to show affection. He never knew how to handle situations which pertained to comforting another person. He was always isolated and hated as a kid. It took him awhile to actually acknowledge Shishou as a father figure. He always felt awkward when Kagura would claim to 'love' him and always embrace him. Even when he told her to get lost, she'd never listen and always hit him instead.

So when it came to Tohru, he was at a complete loss for how to help her.

If only he were normal, he'd be able to hug her tightly and gently run his fingers through her hair. But he wasn't normal. He was a monster, though Tohru completely disagreed. Just the slightest bump would cause him to transform into a cat, and he couldn't really do much as a small ball of fur. But seeing her shaking as tears gently fell down her cheeks stirred something inside him. And as much as he wanted to deny how he felt about her;

He knew he couldn't deny what she wanted.

Gently placing a hand on her shoulder, he caught her attention as he whispered,"Hug me."

Her eyes widened, her whimpers paused as she looked into his reddish eyes, "Wha-"

"Do I have to spell it out for you? I said, hug me."

"B-But you'll transform-"

"I don't care."

"You don't like being hugged-"

"Tohru.." he growled.

"I just don't understand why.."

Looking away from her, he could feel a blush form on his cheeks in embarrassment, but he tried to convey his feelings anyway.

"I don't know how else to help you. If I tried talking with you, I'd probably say the wrong thing and upset you. I know I'll turn into a cat but even if just being here for you is enough, that's fine with me. I just hate seeing you sad and not being able to do anything about it."

A small blush formed on her cheeks as she felt a fuzzy feeling in her chest. She knew he was shy and awkward with his words. The blush on his face was an indicator he clearly wasn't comfortable. Yet he was willing to do so in order to make her happy. At this point, she gave up and wrapped her arms around his midsection. In a matter of seconds, a poof sound echoed in the room and instead of the awkward, shy boy, in her arms were a small orange cat.

He looked up at her before gently nudging her with his head, encouraging her to hold him tighter. She gave a small smile before bringing him closer, snuggling him in her arms before laying down carefully. She held him with tender care and as close to her chest as she could without suffocating him. Though he was a cat, she could tell he was smiling and content with their position.

"Thank you, Kyo-kun."
