I do not own the Inheritance Cycle, that is owned by Christopher Pauloni.

Arya watched silently as the ship holding her beloved sailed away toward the unknown under the calm Alagaesian

night from the back of Firnen, her emerald green dragon. Even though it was she who effectively ended their

romantic relationship for the good of everybody else, it still made it no less painful as he sailed away. She had loved

Eragon, and Eragon had loved her, but he needed to go away and train the new riders that would come soon so

that chaos may not fall upon the kingdom again. She reflected on her and Eragon's time together, at first when he

was just an immature human, barely tried, she could hardly believe that this was the one that Saphira had hatched

for, that this was the one destined to kill Galbatorix. When he had first admitted his feelings for her, she turned

away. However, as he became more tried and more mature, she had began to see how good of a person he was,

and she began falling for him as well. It was only a few days ago in Ellesmera that she had finally confessed her

feelings toward him, and they had spent their last few days together as a happy pair. Back in the present, tears

began to fall from her eyes as Saphira's mournful cry echoed across the sea toward her. Across her and Firnen's

mental link, she could feel his sorrow as he began to howl along with her, mourning the loss of his former mate. This

only amplified Arya's sorrow as well as she began to weep even harder. Still crying, Arya decided that staying any

longer would not help things and turned back toward Ellesmera, toward her destiny of leading the elves, a destiny

that she did not want. Away they flew from the harbor, a pair of mournful shadows, elf and dragon, across the night

sky, back toward Ellesmera, away from Eragon and Saphira. Flying back, she vowed to herself and Firnen that one

day they will be reunited, one day Eragon and Arya, along with Saphira and Firnen, will have a peaceful life

together, one not full of separation ,hurt, and longing.
