The pale figure sat calmly on the rock. Kakashi was obviously out on another mission, he hadn't had a visitor in days. He sighed and stared skyward. The fiery skies of dusk had set in and were now slowly wearing out. Everyone would be sleeping soon, not that he could do the same, not that he could even join them. It was quite lonely being a ghost.
A rustle came from some of the bushes far in front of him, causing him to crane his head to the noise out of pure curiosity (after all, nothing could hurt it nor did anything try.) A girl ran out of the shrubs, arms raised above her face, obviously in distress. She reached the foot of the stone and collapsed to her knees against it, steadying herself on the rock with her hands. Her head didn't need to be up for it to be clear she was crying. The boy's heart jolted slightly with empathy at the sight of her. She looked to be only around his age, well, his appearing age.
"Hey!" he said to her in his friendly voice, not expecting her to even hear him. Surprisingly, she stopped weeping and looked up to him, pale eyes glistening.
"Wh-who… wh-wh-who…" she stuttered out.
"You alright?" he asked, switching to a more concerned tone now he knew she could hear him.
"D-don't worry, I-I'm f-fine thank y-you." She said, averting her eyes.
"Well, you don't look fine." He stated bluntly, not really meaning anything offensive, as he hopped down from the stone to land in front of her. He grinned cheerfully. "Don't keep crying, it's not a good look for you." He brushed his hand through the hair beside her ear, neither of them really noticing or caring that it didn't just glide through. "What's your name?"
"H-Hinata Hyuuga" Hyuuga, that'd be right from the eyes.
"Well I'm Obito, pleased to meet you." He announced, taking a seat in his normal cross legged position. "So what's them matter?"
The girl looked like she was going to dry again. "M-my father, and N-Neji-nii-san, and H-H-Hanabi-n-nee-chan, th-they, I-I'm, d-don't even care, a-always m-mad…" she started spluttering again. Obito clapped a hand onto her shoulder.
"Hey," he started. "You wanna know how to truly appreciate life?" Hinata looked up at him questioningly. "You have to die." He said firmly. "But, I wouldn't want you to have to die, and float around seeing the life you missed. So instead of missing it, why don't you enjoy it?" Obito cocked his head and grinned.
He reminds me so much of Naruto. Hinata thought for a moment. Obito just smiled warmly at her thinking face. Suddenly, Hinata dove into hug the boy, giving him his turn to be surprised. It was a good surprised through, as through the hug he felt her smile causing a burst of laughter from him.
"What?" the Hyuuga asked without letting go.
"It's nothing, I," he smiled to the sky for a second. "I'm just not used to being hugged by girls really." He admitted sheepishly giving her a reason to laugh.
"Don't worry Obito-kun." She assured him, "I'll make certain to live happily, just for you."
---------------------
Hinata Hyuuga awoke the next morning to the sound of birds chirping in the field around her. She had slept that night with her head resting against the cool stone of the memorial. Sitting up groggily, she rubbed her eyes and yawned. Thinking back to the night before, she subconsciously turned her head back to where her head had been resting just moments before and read a single name.
Obito Uchiha
Her head down, she smiled as she got up and walked off back home. Just as she reached the gates she turned and grinned a cheeky grin to the raising sun, eyes ablaze.
She would always live her life fully, even if just for a certain boy that would always keep a special place in her heart.
