For my friends Anna and Grace, who freaked out when I said I was writing something Alanna/Jon. So I wrote them some Alanna/George fluff!
***
In the lonely light of dawn, Alanna ran her fingers down George's jaw line. She traced his forehead, his nose, and his lips. He smiled slightly in his sleep.
She did not regret her decision. George was her future husband and she now realized she had loved him all along. The ten-year-old Alanna never would have wanted to get married-she would have been shocked to think that she'd ever marry anyone, especially a former thief.
But that former thief loved her with all his heart. He treated her like she was precious, but he respected her choices of life and career. And she loved him in return.
She had not betrayed her ten-year-old self. She had achieved her goal-she had become a female knight.
And besides, she thought as she lightly kissed him, the Goddess told me to learn to love. Warm hazel eyes opened and George smiled up at her.
Her love was awake.

Disclaimer: I'm not Tamora Pierce…obviously. If I was her I would have put this in the book!
A/N: So like I said, this is just a little piece that came to me after my friends threatened to shun me because of the somewhat Alanna/Jon one-shot I wrote…and I always love Alanna/George fluff, which I wish there was more of in the book, so here it is! Tell me what you think, please review! -rowena
