Betty shook the magic eight ball as hard as she could. She knew this was her last resort to find out the truth.

Betty had run home as quickly as she could after the events of the afternoon. For reasons unknown, Betty had felt drawn to Gio's Deli. She hadn't seen Gio in awhile, and she missed him. He had turned out to be one of her best friends, but their failed romance had put a strain on the friendship. So on this cold winter day, Betty had walked into the deli and found it empty. She had called Gio's name but he hadn't answered. And then as she had walked towards the back room, she saw them. Gio was passionately kissing a tall, thin girl with dark hair. Betty had gasped loudly and run out of the deli. She had slipped on the icy ground in her haste, falling flat on her face. She faintly remembered hearing a voice call her name but she was too shocked and embarrassed to stop. She had run off, slipping and sliding all the way.

When she arrived home, Betty had done everything she could to find out if Gio still cared about her or if he had moved on. She had done the ol' "he loves me, he loves me not" with at least 15 flowers, and each time she had gotten "he loves me not". This hadn't pleased her, so she had moved on to an internet search. After finding no conclusive evidence of how to tell if a man likes you, she had moved on to her last resort.

The magic eight ball. This was no ordinary eight ball. Hilda had confided to Betty that she used it all the time when she needed answers about relationship questions and that it had never been wrong. Betty had always thought Hilda was insane for believing the stupid ball. But now she was ready to see the mystical powers with her own eyes.

"Does Gio still care about me?" asked Betty.

"Definitely not," answered the ball.

Betty grimaced, but figured that the ball just needed to warm up. She asked again and got a similar answer. After 5 times of asking, the ball finally answered "Maybe". This made Betty very excited, and she started jumping up and down.

"Should I go see him right now?" asked Betty.

"Go for it," answered the ball.

Betty ran out the door and made her way to Gio's Deli as fast as she could. When she got there, she peeked in the window and saw that all the lights were off except for a few candles. As she looked closer, she saw that Gio was down on one knee in front of the girl. Betty's mouth dropped open at the sight of this. The girl started shrieking happily, and once Gio stood up they started hugging and kissing. Betty was already shaking and crying, but once she saw who the girl was she went into hysterics. As she threw up her fists and started freaking out and screaming, she slipped and lost her balance. Her feet flew up in the air, and her last thought before blacking out was "I can't believe my sister is going to marry the man I love."
