Note before we start: This took me a grand total of an hour to write, I apologise for the shortness, but that's how it was designed to be-short. This is Post-AWE, based on an ending in a 'script'-Will as CotFD, and Elizabeth waiting at home for him with Will Jr. This is Sparrabeth, BTW. Fifteen years after AWE.
Rating: Strong T-you'll see why.
Feedback: YAY :D
The crescent moon is large outside William's window, and the sheets are tangled and he can't sleep. Maria is crying in the adjacent room, but his mum doesn't seem to notice. There is a lower sound, deeper than the crying, that can be heard from Mum's room, a guttural sound, groaning and chanting.
"God, Elizabeth…"
He tries to block it out, as usual, and as he quiets the hiccupping baby, he wonders about the secrecy. Everyone knows it isn't his father, because no one has seen his father in five years. He knows who it is. He's never doubted it.
Captain Jack Sparrow.
He knows, because of the slight blush and guilty expression on his mother's face when said pirate is mentioned. He knows, because he's seen the letters in her chambers, the seals broken, open and inviting on her bed-letters from her lost and forgotten lover. He knows, because Maria is only seven months old-and how can a man who has been gone for five years magically father a child?
Maria slowly falls asleep in is arms, and moans from the other room gradually fade.
He's putting Maria back into her crib when a door creaks and he knows he's being watched. He turns, expecting his mother, but it is not. It is a man, his facial features hidden in the cloak of darkness. But William knows exactly whom he's facing. He nods, slightly nervous.
"Captain Sparrow," He says, his voice shaking somewhat. Sparrow was regarding him with interest.
"William," Sparrow responds, and William doesn't need to know how Sparrow knows his name. He puts a hand on William's shoulder, and William visibly tenses.
"No need for that, son. Best be getting to bed. Now, is this the other little one?" The moonlight illuminates Sparrow's face, and he looks neither threatening nor intimidating. Just curious glances towards the crib. William suddenly feels overprotective of his baby sister, but he allows Sparrow to saunter over and gaze upon the infant. He isn't sure about telling him the truth, but he decides to-Sparrow will find out anyway.
"She's your daughter."
He hears Sparrow chuckle.
"Well, she didn't just come out of the ground, now did she?" Sparrow lightly touches the babe's face before he straightens. William sees a soft expression and a slight grin on Sparrow's face, before he clears his throat and strolls to the door.
"We'll meet again, William. Not far in the future, I presume. I best be going now."
Sparrow inclines his head.
"Ta." William blinks, and Sparrow's gone.
'It isn't surprising,' Thought William, when, nine months later, his new baby brother-Jack-was born.
A/N: Yay! Inspiration struck-and that's a line in the AWE novelization. I can't see Willabeth without some Sparrabeth thrown in-and besides, Lizzie can't honestly just sit and wait for Will every ten years and not have any action-she's a pirate. I made the last line past tense on purpose. Just saying.
Okay, review time! Seriously, guys, it literally makes my day when people review-and is it really that difficult? Pretty please???;D
