Ron was in a class when he saw an ugly man. The man's left eye was bigger than the right one and he had two tongues. He was bald and fat and the other arm is longer than the other. Ron laughed at him so loud that everyone heard. The man got angry and cast a spell at Ron. The man said everyone you touch shall be cursed like you!

Ron laughed again disbelieving what the man had just said. After class, Ron met Harry in the corridor and told him what happened. Ron was so excited and amused that he didn't notice the first step down the stairs. He slipped and tumbling down a few steps and fell flat on his face. But Harry didn't see Ron fell. He thought Ron had to rush off someplace, so Harry simply went off to class. Hermione, on the other hand, came and helped him. She asked why he fell.

"I was just telling Harry about this ugly man I saw during class. I laughed at him so he cursed me. I figured he was just joking." Ron answered.

"Joking? You should know better Ron! What else did he say?"

"He said whoever I touch shall be cursed too."

Hermione's eyebrow raised, "Odd.."

Then Dumbledore walked past the two and patted Ron on the head. Ron was sweating. He was expecting something bad to happen to Dumbledore, but nothing did.

That same night, while Ron was sleeping, a fire started. Ron was fast asleep he didn't even feel the heat of the flames. Luckily Harry came, kicked the door open and put out the fire. Ron woke up wearily, scratching his eye.

"What happened, Harry?"

"Oh Ron..." Harry sighed.

The next night, when Ron and Harry was about to sleep, they saw that Ron's bed had burned down. Therefore, Ron had to sleep on the floor. He was utterly miserable and wished to get rid of the curse. The only problem was he didn't know how.

Early in the morning, Ron sought Hermione for help.

"Well Ron, I for one, thinks you have to apologise to this man."

"But.. but.. You must have come up with something else! I can't apologise. I don't want to!" implied Ron as he ran down the hallway to look for Dumbledore. As he frantically searched each room for Dumbledore, a bucket full of water fell on his head from nowhere. Now he was wet, annoyed and desperate.

"Oh finally, here you are Dumbledore!" he exclaimed.

"What can I do you for, Ron?" Dumbledore said while peering down his spectacles, with curious eyes.

Ron told Dumbledore everything. Alas when he finished, he was out of breath. Dumbledore looked down at him and with a glow in his face and a stern, firm tone in his voice; he said one word that stung Ron as much as the first time he heard it from Hermione.

"Apologise."

Ron was teary-eyed. He couldn't bear it anymore. He ran down the hallway while pondering. He had no choice. Well, he had actually, but there must be some other way.

He ran and ran and when it finally hit him, he stopped. He had to ask Snape. His desperation seemed to block his sense of fear. No one else could help him. He didn't want to ask the other professors and Snape was the most likely to enlighten him with some miraculous solution. He had no choice..
