Dan POV

All day I had been planning to do it, and I think I'm finally ready. I decided I was going to tell Phil how I felt. I had spent all day in my room, psyching myself up to do it. He would understand, right? It wouldn't be weird. And if he doesn't feel the same way, we can go back to how we were before. But, I mean, I've seen the little glances he gives me, and how he holds my gaze for longer than necessary, how his touch will linger for more time than required, so that's got to mean something, right?

I walked into the living room and sat down on the sofa next to him. As I did, I saw his head turn in my direction, before turning back to the TV.

"What you watching?" I asked.

"Buffy." He said, never taking his eyes off the screen. I nodded, even though he wasn't looking. We sat there for what felt like ages, but it was probably only about 15 minutes, and all that time, I was willing myself to do it now before I chickened out.

"Hey Phil?" I said.

"Yeah?" He asked, actually turning to look at me this time.

"Can I try something?" I asked. He gave me a slightly confused look, tipping his head to the side slightly.

"Um, sure. What?" He asked.

"Just close your eyes." I instructed.

"Okay." He said, confusion evident in his voice. He closed his eyes. Well, it's now or never, I thought. I leaned forwards until I was quite close to his face, using the arm and the back of the sofa to support me. My eyes gazed down to his lips, before looking back to his eyes, making sure they were still closed. I leaned forwards a bit more, and I could feel him breathing. I closed the distance, connecting our lips. Phil gasped audibly. I opened my eyes to his him staring back. Maybe this wasn't a good idea, I thought. I went to pull away, however, Phil must have realised this because he then started responding, his hands resting on my waist. I sat down, so I was on his lap, his hands never leaving my waist, my hands coming up to his shoulders.

Eventually, we had to pull away. I rested my forehead against his.

"What was that for?" He asked quietly.

"Well one of us had to do it." I smiled. He smiled as well.

"And about bloody time too." He joked. I chuckled. "So what does this make us now?" He asked.

"I don't know. I didn't think that far ahead. I didn't even know how you were going to respond to that." I told him.

"Well what do you want?" He asked.

"I don't know. How about we go out on a date and see how it goes." I suggested, smiling. I grinned.

"Are you asking me out?" He asked.

"Bitch I might be." I joked.

"Way to kill the mood, Dan." He laughed, pulling back from me.

"Sorry." I laughed. "But was that a yes or a no?" I asked, slightly nervous.

"Yes." He smiled.

"Yes it's a yes, or yes it's a no?" I asked.

"Yes it's a yes." He laughed.

"Good." I smiled, and then reattached our lips. "Well you better get planning." I said once I had pulled away, getting up to leave the room.

"What do you mean 'planning'?" He asked confused.

"The date. It has to be amazing." I laughed from the door.

"You asked, so you plan." He said, picking a cushion up from the sofa and throwing it at me. I managed to dodge it, leaving the room. "And you made me miss Buffy." I heard him shout.

"Not my problem." I shouted back, laughing.
