Sam and Dean were in the middle of a rather difficult hunt. The pair of werewolves they were chasing were strong; they'd been created less than a week ago. After a failed attack, they had followed one of the wolves back to an abandoned building. They had rested to allow their wounds to heal a little before returning there to hopefully, finish the job.
However, things had not exactly gone according to plan. One of the wolves had seen them enter so their element of surprise was immediately gone. The first wolf leapt on Dean, pinning his gun arm to the floor at his side. Just as Sam was aiming his own weapon, the other of the pair appeared out of the shadows and they began a wrestling match of their own. It wasn't looking good for either of the Winchesters. Dean was holding his wolf's jaws inches away from his jugular. Sam's weapon had been thrown half way across the floor and claws ripped deep into his long, lanky frame again and again. It was at times like these that Dean really longed for angel Cas to come to the rescue, but Cas couldn't help them on this one.
Just as Dean's strength was fading, a silver bullet hit the wolf in the centre of its back and Dean was winded and pinned down by a large mass of fur. He hadn't actually seen the bullet, but it must have been a silver one to kill the werewolf. The other wolf had seen his brother fall and was turning round to face the new threat when it was hit in the temple. With a small whine it fell sideways onto the ground. Sam let his head hit the floor and sighed heavily, pain shooting through his body.
Dean wondered who had managed to jump in and save their asses just in the nick of time. He watched as a pair of jean-clad legs walked steadily over to him. A sneakered foot pushed the weight of the beast off his chest and he looked up to see a familiar shock of red hair.
"What up, bitches," said Charlie, Sam's gun held by her shoulder and one hand cockily on her hip. Dean didn't realise until now how much he had missed that mischievous glint in her eye. Sam sat up slowly, blinking in disbelief and Dean pulled Charlie into a firm hug. It felt so good to know that all his family were finally safe. Well, for now anyway.
