It took me a bit to figure out how to get my one-line idea into something decent. Hope you enjoy.

Disclaimer: I do not own Chrono Trigger, nor any of it's characters. Nor do I own Disney World (I'd be rich if I did!).... I wrote this purely for my enjoyment.

Magus walked, no, he strode around, trying to find a Gate to take him back. Back to his world, or even better, to his original time period. He didn't quite know how he got here. He and the others had just defeated Lavos, but a Gate had flung him far from his temporary companions. Not that he thought of them as companions.

In truth, he was in an amusement park. The year was, for the world he ended up in, 1999. Somehow, he was thrown through space, perhaps time as well, into a separate world. He only figured this out after reading a bulletin board, which had the date and a list of places the amusement park at other installments at. Who heard of California? Or Disney? Where was Truce?

He glowered at the noisy youngsters who ran by him. Parents glowered back, but he paid no mind. The mage didn't really care, after all. As soon as he found a Gate out of there, he was gone. These people wouldn't likely remember him, and he definitely wouldn't remember them. So why waste effort on them?

Straining to hear the slight, distinctive sound of an active Gate in the noise of the park, a gaggle of 18-21 year old girls walked by. One stopped and stared at him with puppy eyes. She was a blond, with pretty green eyes and a generally pretty face. Magus didn't care, and made to leave.

"Hi, you look kinda cute," The girls started. "You seem to be a shy, lonely type... I like that. Would you mind exchanging numbers?" The girl's assessment of Magus was off, though she was right that he wouldn't speak first.. except he wouldn't speak at all, if he really felt like it.

Magus considered his options, and the ghost of a smile played at his lips as sighed and said in a condescending tone, "I'm gay." Then abruptly he walked off, not even a second glance to the girl whose heart he just crushed.

The poor girl broke down in sobs right then and there, at his cruel rejection, and his lack of compassion. She saw through his lie pretty quickly, which made it all the worse for her.

Magus's ghost of a smile widened into the feral one. Good, maybe that will teach her to approach strange men. Not that he cared. It was amusing to see how easily she cried over such a rejection. Well, he'll be out of her life soon enough. And out of this world... there was the Gate, hiding behind a portable restroom.

Making sure he wasn't seen, Magus activated the Gate and stepped in, never again to be seen in Disney World, Florida.
