Hey my lovelies. Started this fic a year and a half ago sorry it took so long. Enjoy

For thousands of years Angels have been sent from heaven to help guide those on earth. They are there to whisper in their charges ear from birth to death. Never allowed to leave their side, and forced to remain without love for all eternity, but if they do happen to fall in love, it must never be with a human especially their charge. To them the must give their life but not their love. For to do so would be disastrous, for an Angel can love far deeper than any mortal, and the mortal would be crushed, also love is an Angel's strongest weapon, for it can make grown men weep and Dictators take a bullet for a small child. And for a Guardian it's that much worse, for they were the very best of humanity before their deaths and love distracts them, leaving them to do the insane. So they hide their emotions, making their charges lives a game, seeing who can make the biggest impact with the least amount of words.

They never dared to get attached for the last to do so clipped their wings and then died a horrid death, never to see the gates again. So for an Angel to fall in love it would take a special mortal, for a Guardian to fall in love? It would take the impossible. For one Guardian though it was never even contemplated for this Guardian was the best. She had been the Guardian to the very best in humanity, for she was there when the wheel was created and she was there when the first bomb when off, and she will still be there when humanity finally gives up. For she was the oldest, the first born before love, from the need to survive. She was strong and fast and brilliant even to today's standards.

It was routine for her, getting the call to help another human, routine to watch them grow up, old, and die. Routine to whisper into their ears to never give up, to never back down, and to try. Routine until February 29th 1896. When a certain emerald eyed baby with bronze hair was born. Routine until a certain Guardian was assigned to protect him. Routine until everything changed. Forever.
