Caelo Lunae – Eyes like the sky

"Even when the sky is covered with clouds, I can still see the stars hidden in your eyes."

One of my favorite things to do before I sleep is to look out the window and watch the starry sky; thousands and thousands of stars, all shining beautifully. Some of them are faint, and some are very bright. And you know, if you look hard enough, they are in so many colors, too. Yellows and blues and reds and some that are the purest of whites… All of them, glimmering exquisitely in the night.
That's one of the reasons I'm not that fond of winter, you know. The snowfall is beautiful, and the holidays bring happiness to so many. There are many reasons to love winter, yet I… never was able to.
After all, in order for there to be snow, there needs to be clouds. Those clouds cover the whole sky, and reflect the murky glow of the city lights, shutting the stars and moon away from us. No, perhaps, shutting us away from the moon and stars…
But you know? There is something almost as good. Something that is just as beautiful as the starry sky. Something so much closer, so warm and loving.
It almost makes me miss winter.
You know what it is?
It's you, Romano. You are as beautiful as the moon, the stars, and so much more. You love me, and let me love you, throwing away your pride to do so.
It's a bit early, but…

Happy Valentines' day, Romano.
Will you marry me?

This was originally something I thought up while walking to the bus stop for school. One of the things that make waking up so early worth it is the starry sky, and the sunrise in the distance. However, living in the Pacific Northwest, clear skies are a bit hard to come by this time of year… I hadn't a clue what I'd turn that quote of mine into, but I'm pleased with how this turned out.
Happy early Valentines' day, everyone.
Additional note: The title is in Latin. It translates to "Heaven's Moon", I think. I love Latin; it really is a beautiful language. It's a shame nobody speaks it anymore.
