The cast was at Brittany's house for a cookout to celebrate the anniversary of coming together to make Pitch Perfect. Everyone was having a great time catching up over a couple of beers and delicious food, except Anna Camp.

The blonde hadn't wanted to come at all, she didn't want to spoil everyone else's fun because she was upset about separating from her husband. Instead of playing volleyball with Alexis, Rebel, Brittany, and Kendrick against some of the Trebles, Anna sat on the sidelines and watched them have fun, completely ignoring the vodka cranberry she had made for herself.

Anna nearly jumped out of her seat when Skylar came out of nowhere and practically yelled, "Hey stranger."

"Oh, hi Skylar. How are you?" the blonde asked, hoping to keep the focus off of her and how sad she was.

The brunette shrugged his shoulders. "I'm ok. I just got cast in a TV show with Alexis, so I'm pretty excited to work with her again and have a steady job."

Anna genuinely smiled at hearing this, she was happy for her friends. "That's really great. I'm so happy for you both," she said placing a hand on his knee.

To the blonde's surprise, his smile faltered. "What's wrong?" She asked, concerned.

Skylar let out a heavy sigh. "I'm kind of sad because my girlfriend and I just broke up. When I got this TV show it kind of solidified that I'm going to be living in L.A. for at least the next year so we'd be long distance for a really long time. We mutually agreed that it isn't fair to each other and ended it. I know it was the right thing to do, but I'm still sad."

Without thinking, Anna pulled Skylar in for a comforting hug. "I'm so sorry to hear that. Breakups are never fun, even if you know they're for the best in the long run."

The blonde internally debated for a few seconds whether or not to tell him about her own impending divorce. "Michael and I separated last week. As much as I care for him and wanted to hold onto the relationship, we're just headed in different directions in life and have to move on."

Skylar nodded at what Anna said, it made perfect sense. He didn't care any less for her, they just couldn't be together romantically anymore. Anna was always a really great friend to him with a great sense of humor and he could always count on her to make him laugh. How could anyone let a perfect woman like Anna get away? If she was his girlfriend, he would treat her like a queen and never let her go. "What, where did that come from?" Skylar thought. "Anna is my friend, nothing more."

The brunette had been spaced out for a few moments and when he came back to reality, the blonde was waving her hand in his face in an attempt to bring him back to reality. "Earth to Skylar," she said.

Skylar shook his head before locking eyes with the woman sitting across from him. "Would you want to go to dinner with me sometime?"

Anna looked at her friend skeptically, but eventually relaxed, "Yeah, I think that would be fun."

"Just so we're clear, I'm asking you on a date," Skylar clarified.

The blonde nodded, "Yes, I know. That's why I said yes."

Skylar blushed, "Sorry, I guess I thought it would be ridiculous to think you could like me the same way I like you."

Anna rolled her eyes, "Oh please, we've liked each other since we first met, we just couldn't act on it because we were both taken."

Skyalr nodded as he realized the blonde was right. "Well either way, I'm glad you said yes."

"I'm glad you asked me, "Anna said with a little wink."
