Warriors Tale

"…and with one swipe of his visious claw, all of Tigerstar's lives were spent, and he died." The elder looked up to see all of the kits trembling with a hollow look in their eyes. Then he realized that they were waiting for him to finish the story, so he continued. "All the cats in the clearing froze. The great Tigerstar was dead. Scourge looked up at the cats and said that they had three days to leave their homes, or they would be killed. Lost and forlorn, the cats went back to their clans…."

"You mean they gave up?" the shrill voice of Nightkit interrupted him.

"No, of course not. How could we still be here if we gave up? Anyway, warriors would never give up. You wouldn't, right?"

"Nope. I'd stay and fight. Any one who left would be acting like a kittypet." Nightkit said rather proudly and disdainfully.

"You may say that now, but Scourge was scaring everyone, from kits to warriors to leaders. But one leader would never give up. That one leader was our leader, Firestar. He was the one who convinced the other clans to fight. He was the one who killed Scourge. He was the one who brought us to our new home by the lake…"

"Nightkit, Thornkit, come on. You've been in the elder's den for much too long. I'm sorry, Longtail, to have let my kits bother you so long." Whitewing said.

"Think nothing of it."

"Alright kits, lets go."

"You know, I always did like Firestar." Nightkit said to Thornkit as they walked out.

"Me too. I want to be clan leader some day."

"We could both be, together."

"Yeah, and all the clans all around the lake will look up to us."

"I don't think the cats could technically look up at you." Longtail called out. "Your too short."

"You say that now, but someday I will be clan leader. Your just a mousebrained elder" Thornkit said defensively under his breath.

Longtail was worried. Ambition like that always let to trouble. He was acting just like……Tigerstar. This could not end well, it never did.
