It was a Good Landing, Really…

She was standing in the splendor of victory. Anyone looked stunning with the flush of winning; America would know. He loved to win. But as he was brushing the snow off his skis, he turned to see Belarus staring into the night sky, past the lights overhead. She was bundled up in heavy snow coats, but her hair was splayed behind her; she had since shed her hat.

Normally, on a day-to-day, world-conference-to-world-conference basis, he preferred not to speak with her (she was always looking rather scheming), but today, America bit back previous opinions and approached her (also, China was being rather cold about being third – "I've got nothing to say, aru." so he wasn't anyone to talk to and boy, did America like talking).

"That was a great one there," he said, walking up to her, his boots crunching in the snow. She glanced at him briefly before considering the stars a worthy fixation over him. How she could see them past the stadium lights was beyond him, but she was a strange being. "Awesome landing."

"Of course," she said briskly, her white blonde hair frozen around her face. "Because when my brother tries to play hard to get, I've got to get to him in any way possible…and this just happens to be one of them."

Imagining Belarus spinning in the air and crashing into Russia's house seemed rather unlike her – more of the ninja tactics Japan would use. But of course, if she could scratch out a doorknob with her bare hands…

"Maybe he'll look at me now," she murmured, a small smile crossing her face. "Now that I've got this pretty necklace, he'll look at me. And he won't tell me to go home now. I'll be his favorite. His favorite…"

America took that distraction as his cue to leave. Perhaps China would be more stimulating.

Note: Belarus wins gold in men's aerials. Boy do I love me some Olympic inspiration. I haven't written anything about her, so I suppose now would be a good time to dabble in it. China didn't look too pleased, though. Review…?
