Dumbledore awoke with a feeling that something was wrong. His head and face were… cold. He raised his hand and found that his beard was missing and he was now bald. The floor was littered with locks of hair.
Before he had time to process this revelation his door opened and Severus Snape stormed in. His trademark greasy hair was completely gone and his bald head gleamed. "Your insolent protégé has gone too far this time, Albus!" Snape yelled, and then he noticed Dumbledore's equally bald state. "Potter has done it to you too?"
"So it would seem," Dumbledore said. "Why do you suspect Harry?"
"Who else could it be?" Snape replied. "Only he is such a persistent rule-breaker."
"The Weasley twins?" Dumbledore suggested.
"They wouldn't dare," Snape said, with a sneer. "Only that pampered brat Potter believes that he can get away with anything, just like his father."
"You malign him unfairly, Severus," Dumbledore said, with a sigh, "but I suppose we'd better go and question him."
They set off for the Gryffindor tower but half-way there they came upon the stunned, and bald, bodies of Crabbe and Goyle. A few feet further on Harry Potter was bending over the unconscious body of Draco Malfoy, running a pair of clippers over the Slytherin's blond head.
"Harry, my boy!" Dumbledore called out, horrified. "Why, in the name of Merlin, are you doing this?"
Harry looked up and shrugged. "But, Headmaster," he said, "you know I've got a shaving people thing."
