This May be Good-bye

I wish I did. xP
A/N: This is just a one-shot that I have had in my mind since I came across a line while I was reading The Journals of Sylvia Plath. I don't really like how this turned out, but since I wrote it at one in the morning I can't really complain.
"…remember, remember, this is now, and now, and now. Live it, feel it, cling to it. I want to become acutely aware of all I've taken for granted. When you feel this may be the good-bye, the last time, it hits you harder." - Sylvia Plath
It had started as a light drizzle on the shinobi village, but as the hours dragged on so did the storm. The light drizzle had become a heavy down pour, and the gravel streets were now flooded from the storm. The village roads were empty, for everyone had taken cover from the storm, everyone save for a certain pink haired kunoichi who had opted to take gate duty for the evening.
It had started out as an uneventful evening for Sakura. A genin team had come home soaked and chilled when the storm first hit Konohagakure, but after that not even the birds flew by. It wasn't until around midnight that Sakura was able to sense the chakra of another shinobi.
Maybe it was just a lucky guess, or maybe it was her woman's intuition, but Sakura knew something bad was bound to happen when she had volunteered for gate duty that morning.
At first the kunoichi was not able sense his presence, even though he was so close to her. His chakra was so low, that not even the medic-nin could feel it.
When she saw his form stagger into the clearing she knew it was too late, but still she rushed to him, catching his body in her arms before he came in contact with the hard, wet ground.
His eyes fluttered open as she brushed his silver hair out of his face. Her green eyes met his mismatched pair, and he smiled up at the young woman who held him in her lap.
His clothes were bloody and torn, his jonin vest was missing, same as the mask that would normally hid his face.
He hands went straight to work, healing the wounds that covered his worn out body. Her chakra mixing with his, in a struggled attempt to save him.
His voice was haggard as he spoke. "Thank you, Sakura-chan, for everything."
Her tears began to mix with the rain that fell from the heavens as they fell onto his bare face. I can't lose you Kaka-kun. I won't lose you. Not now. Not ever.
He slowly motioned for her to move closer, so he could whisper his final good-bye to the one girl who had broken down every barrier that the put up in his life.
Before he could speak, the kunoichi placed a light kiss on his cold lips channeling some more of her chakra into his body. "Try to stay with me, okay Kakashi? Everything is going to be alright."
He could only nod his head as everything went black around him, the only sound was his haggard breathing.
The next time the copy nin awoke he was surrounded by a warm, familiar chakra. There was a body next to him in the bed, with pink hair fanning out on the pillows. He grimaced as he leaned up on his elbows and placed a tender kiss on his saviors lips.
"I'll never leave you Sakura-chan."
