Alright, so I wrote this poem a couple of weeks ago and submitted it on VampireFreaks in a writing group I'm in. A couple of people liked it, and the more I checked back on my portfolio for comments and re-read my work, the more I wanted to submit it here. This is a poem, told from Yami Bakura's point of view. It's simply titled "Bakura".

You came into my village,
and killed off hundreds, possibly thousands,
and then say you're the greatest, and the kindest,
I should appreciate your generosity.
What would you know of the pain?
The anguish? The fear? The loneliness?
You didn't sit back and watch your loved ones die,
slaughtered and thrown into a boiling pot.
They were sacrificed for a "greater good";
what good can come of such madness and bloodshed?
You're confused as to why I haunt your every footstep,
why I wish to hear your heart cease to beat within your "mighty" chest.
You wouldn't even begin to understand.
We come from two completely different worlds;
you were ancient royalty, a king of all kings.
And I?
Well I was a mere peasent boy,
the son of a family of theives and outcasts.
Your personal disregard of life sickens me,
just like the righteous bellow you assault my ears with.
I'll never bow to you,
I'll never care about you or your life.
Save your tears and lies,
if you had known the truth from the very beginning,
you still wouldn't have cared.
Take your pathetic excuses and shove them somewhere foul,
for I'll never forgive you for the pain you've caused.

You guys know the drill by now! If you liked it, review it. :) Let me know what you think, please! I've been really focusing on my writing and taking things a bit more seriously, especially my writing, and I wanna know what people think about it.
