((My second yaoi, Ch.1 re-written for your reading enjoyment.))

There it was. What an interesting creature. Hidan had never seen such a pure white rabbit before, and those eyes! Blood red; they seemed to stare directly into his soul, it's pale pink nose twitching, whiskers quivering. The Jashinist stood there staring at the rabbit which sat in front of him, staring back. Hidan took a step towards it, but the creature didn't even blink. He continued walking very slowly towards the little rabbit, one step at a time until there was but three feet between them. Still, it simply sat there, red eyes staring up at him. It didn't even tense. Perhaps it was somebody's pet that had gotten loose? He slowly kneeled down and reached a hand out towards the rabbit to see if he could catch it but no sooner had he done so the little creature pounded towards him a couple steps, startling the Albino and causing him to jump back, falling on his ass before he staggered to his feet.

He straightened up and sucked in a breath, cheeks flushing with embarrassment. He was beyond glad that Kakuzu hadn't witnessed the exchange. He'd never have lived down being startled by a fucking rabbit.

"You're such a weird fucking creature ya know that?"

It watched him for a few seconds before pouncing at his feet once more. It landed mere inches away from the immortals toes, causing the zealot to curse loudly and stumble back another step. Was this normal behavior for a rabbit? Suddenly the creature snorted and turned around, scampering into some nearby bushes. Perplexed, Hidan followed after it, but when he reached the bushes, it was gone. There weren't even any footprints in the soft mud at the base of the bushes.

"That was fucking creepy." Hidan muttered.

Shaking his head, he continued back towards his destination, having the sudden creeping feeling he was being watched

"Oi oi bastards! I'm back!" He called loudly as he entered the base.

"Shut the hell up you annoying idiot. You're giving me a headache."

Kakuzu was the first to 'greet' the immortal.

"Oi, fuck you, asshole!" Hidan responded, a wide grin spread over his lips. Kakuzu grunted, turning and heading up the stairs towards his room. Hidan followed after him.

"Some warm welcome, bastard."

"That was warm? Hmm..looks like I need to work on it. That's not what I was going for at all."

"Cocksucker."

The two reached the top of the stairs and Hidan followed Kakuzu into their shared room.

"Why are you following me?" The miser growled.

"It's my room too Kakuzu-Chan."

"Don't call me that."

"Hmph. You're no fun!"

"Quit whining."

"Go fuck yourself."

Kakuzu smirked softly beneath his mask, closing and locking the door, turning to Hidan as he pulled the mask down.

"Why fuck myself when I've got you?" The miser cooed softly, yanking Hidan into a firm kiss, grasping the smaller man's hips tightly. Hidan hardly had time to let out an indignant whine before he was tugged into the embrace, his fingers finding their way behind Kakuzu's hood, twisting into the other man's wiry hair. The two stumbled towards the closest bed, Kakuzu tossing the younger man on top of the sheets and crawling over him, attacking his lips again.

He ran his hands up Hidan's bare sides and the younger man shivered from the touch, goosebumps breaking out over his skin. It was times like these when Kakuzu was glad his partner never wore a shirt; it made getting down to it so much easier. He pulled back for air and Hidan practically ripped the miser's mask and hood off, tossing them on the floor. Kakuzu smirked, always enjoying Hidan's eagerness. The Jashinist's hands soon found their way under Kakuzu's shirt, feeling the toned, scarred chest before tugging the clothing from his partner's body. Kakuzu dipped his head down to Hidan's neck, nipping at the pale flesh, drawing a soft mewl from his lips which encouraged Kakuzu to continue.

His lips soon reached the Jashinist's collar bone and he sucked and licked at the flesh, leaving a small hicky. He licked up Hidan's neck then went for the smaller man's lips again, slipping his tongue between his teeth. Tendrils worked quickly to tug Hidan's pants down as the zealot's hands wandered up and down Kakuzu's chest, his tongue wrestling with the miser's. They pulled back again, both breathing heavily and gazing up at each other, bodies pressed flushed against each other, their hearts beating wildly together.

"I love you."

The miser stopped, looking down at the man beneath him, startled and- though he'd never admit it outloud- scared by the confession.

"Don't say that. You know it's not true." He hissed as he sat up, pulling away from Hidan.

"You don't know how I feel, bastard."

"I know that you don't love me. That's ridiculous."

"Shut up, it is fucking not!"

With the mood now completely ruined, Kakuzu shifted off the bed and stood, moving towards his desk.

"Oi, get back here asshole!"

"I'm not in the mood anymore, Hidan."

"What the fuck you dickhead!"

"Keep your damn voice down."

"I'll be as loud as I fucking want you mother fucker! What the hell is your damn problem?" Hidan said furiously, sitting up and glaring heatedly at Kakuzu, embarrassed at being denied but even more pissed off about it.

"My problem? I don't have a problem. You're the one with the problem. You shouldn't say preposterous bullshit like that."

"It's the fucking truth!"

"No it's not Hidan! I know for a fact it's not!"

"Oh really! So wonderful that you fucking know how I feel about us!" He hollered.

The miser had quickly gone to the other side of the room, staring out the window, an angry scowl on his face as he readjusted his clothing, covering himself back up quickly.

"You need to keep your damn voice down, Hidan. There is no us and I'd really appreciate it if you didn't make the others think there is."

"After everything we've been through, everything that's happened, you still refuse to fucking admit it! Why are you so god damned afraid to have someone attached to you? Are you a scared little bitch? Frightened of your own feelings?" He said nastily, taking a few steps towards the miser with his fists clenched.

"Shut up Hidan. you're giving me a damn headache. I'm not talking about this right now." He grumbled, his temples starting to ache as he rustled some papers around on his desk, trying to find something he could actually work on that would keep Hidan at bay.

"Yeah well too bad because I am! I don't care what you say, I know how I feel and I know how you feel, wether you say it or not!"

"You don't know shit Hidan! So shut the fuck up!" Kakuzu roared, swiping the contents of his desk onto the floor with a clatter and turning to Hidan with fury burning in his eyes.

"Outside of our work and our quick little fucks you mean nothing to me, you obnoxious fucking idiot! Nothing!"

The room fell quiet as Hidan stared at the miser with an expression of shock and hurt, Kakuzu staring back with unapologetic anger.

"You know what? Fine. What the fuck ever, you piece of shit bastard. You can suck your own cock from now on. Can't believe this goddamned shit." The Jashinist hissed angrily, tears welling up in his eyes as he tried and failed to keep the tremble out of his voice. He tugged his pants back up and stormed towards the door.

"Good! Leave!"

"I am leaving!"

Hidan slammed the door behind him, causing Kakuzu's lip to curl with irritation as the plaster at the corner cracked.

The Jashinist stormed from the base and started running, wiping furiously at the tears forming in the corners of his eyes. He didn't know where he was running to, but he knew he wanted to get as far away from Kakuzu as quickly as possible. If he never saw that asshole again it would be too goddamned soon.

He tore through the forest, not bothering to be quiet or stealthy, crashing through the trees and snapping branches. He didn't stop until he clotheslined himself on a branch and plummeted to the ground, gasping as he landed hard on his back and knocked the wind out of his lungs. He lay there for awhile, breathing hard, his back and chest aching as tears finally started to spill down his cheeks, heart aching.

He and Kakuzu had been together for so long now.. years. Decades. They knew each other probably better than they knew themselves; they survived not only with each other, but because of each other. They had an undeniable history and connection and the zealot knew for a fact that it was more than sexual. Kakuzu just couldn't admit to himself that he loved something real, something besides money, something else that he might lose and never get back...

After laying on his back for awhile he slowly sat up, rubbing at the back of his head and wiping his eyes, leaning against the base of the tree he had just fallen out of. He rubbed his face, sighing out heavily.

"Fucking asshole.." He croaked softly to himself, looking up as he started to stand, faltering when he saw what was sitting in front of him.

It was a little creature. A rabbit to be more precise, but not just any rabbit; a white one with blood red eyes.

He blinked with surprise, staring at it for a moment before shrugging it off and pulling himself to his feet, not thinking much about it. He didn't believe in that superstition shit, and he never payed attention to signs. It was just a strange coincidence, that's all. Hell, there was probably a whole brood of the weird little shits in this forest.

He shook his head and started walking, watching as the rabbit turned and dashed away, disappearing into the underbrush once more. As soon as the creature was gone, Hidan was hit with an uneasy feeling. He felt like he was being watched again and it was making his damn skin crawl. He brushed it off as over-emotional paranoia and kept walking. He was sure it was nothing, just the tree's shadows getting to him.

He wandered around the forest for a few hours, trying to calm himself down and clear his mind. It wasn't the first time they'd had an argument about this particular subject, although it had probably been the first time Kakuzu hadn't hit him for saying it so maybe that hinted towards improvement?

It infuriated the Jashinist that his partner wouldn't just admit he had feelings for him. It was so obvious, and the more he pushed Hidan away, the more obvious it became. It had crossed his mind many times in the past that Kakuzu was just using him for sex, but he just wasn't convinced of that considering all of the tender moments they had shared, both in and out of the bedroom, before and after sex.

Sure, their relationship had started as needless fucking, their bodies drawn together after the thrill of a fight, the rush after a battle that actually managed to challenge their skills. He remember that first fuck quite well; it was one of his fondest memories. They were more than that now, though. They'd been fucking so long, spent so much time together, gotten to know each other so intimately.. he just didn't understand what was holding Kakuzu back.

He paused in his walk and glanced up at the sky, sighing heavily when he realized that it was getting darker out; the sun was setting, the sky ablaze with orange and magenta tones. Hidan was starting to get tired but there was no way in hell he was going back to the base tonight. If he never faced Kakuzu again it would be too goddamned soon.

No. He would either sleep in a tree or find a cheap hotel for the night. There was a town a few miles to the North, he could be there before the sun set. He turned in that direction and froze, his eyes widening with shock.

No way. Not possible. Now this was really starting to creep him out.

The white rabbit sat in front of him, whiskers twitching as it stared up at him, blood red eyes boring into his soul. Hidan's heart was hammering in his chest. What the hell was up with this fucking thing? Was it following him? Was it an enemy under cover? Some kind of companion animal stalking him?

Hidan was so focused on the rabbit, trying to figure out why he'd seen it so many times today and what it could possibly mean that he didn't even notice the sound of a twig snapping behind him or that the rabbits' ears had swiveled towards the sound, it's little body tensing.

It wasn't until he heard something shift behind him that he realized he was in danger, and by that point it was far too late, he just didn't know it yet. The rabbit let out a soft squeak and bolted right as he started to turn, kunai in hand. He whirled around and came face to face with- nothing.

He hesitated, eyes darting around wildly, kunai clutched in his grip. He turned slowly in a circle but there was nothing; not a single person or creature in sight. The rabbit was gone and made no sign of resurfacing.

A twig snapped behind him and he whirled around, his kunai slicing smoothly through the air and embedding into a tree a good distance in front of him, but there was nobody else there.

"K-kakuzu?" He called out, his voice echoing through the trees, but everything remained still. His eyes searched desperately for a sign of something, anything out of place, anything that didn't seem right, but there was nothing.

He whirled around once more as another crunching sound reached his ears, his heart rate spiking.

"This isn't fucking funny, asshole!" He hollered, gripping a second kunai firmly in his palm.

"Who's laughing?" A voice hissed in his ear, making his blood run cold and goosebumps break out over his skin. He started to turn to beat the stranger back but even as he did so he knew it was too late; something deep within him, perhaps the part of his brain that recognized the voice, was screaming that he was screwed to hell.

No sooner had his feet shifted, something hard and heavy struck him in the back of the head. The world spun, his vision blurred, knees gave out. The last thing he saw was the shaking of the brush that the rabbit had disappeared through as his head hit the ground and darkness enveloped him.

((Well there we have it, Ch. 1, edited and re-written for better quality. Good bye juvenile 12 year old writing lmfao. My plan is to go through each chapter and edit/re-write for quality, then hopefully finish the story finally. I'm gonna estimate about 2 more chapters, no guarantee on when they'll come out though. Please review, let me know what you think! Thanks for reading!))
