This is about Hige right before he meets Kiba. I don't own Wolf's Rain. Too bad..
Alone.
That was how he felt. Wandering the streets alone, like a mutt, like a stray. The large wolf, brown in color, walked down the alley. His bright eyes hid his lonely heart. His wide stomach hid his ever hungry soul. All he wanted was someone like him. Someone to play with, cause trouble with. A companion, a friend...
His silver collar made him stand out against the stray dogs. But he didn't really need it. The dog catchers would stay away from him anyway. They did not know he what he really was. His disguise fooled the humans well enough, but animals saw him for what he truly was- A wolf, an animal long thought to be extinct.
A loud hiss reached the wolf's ears. He spotted a grey cat, it's back arched, hissing at him. The wolf's eye's glinted for a moment. Looking around at the abandoned area around him, he launched himself at the cat. Soon the brown wolf was running through the streets, chasing the cat. He wanted so much to just bark and howl, but he held down the urge. Running out of the alley, he suddenly came to a stop. He jumped behind a garbage can, gawking around it.
A wolf! Another wolf! The wolf's mind raced. Another like him. How wonderful! His heart stopped as he saw the humans move it into the building. He saw the blood seeping through the white wolf's many wounds. He was still breathing, though it was very shallow. One of the humans muttered something about it being dead. The brown wolf smirked to himself. Stupid humans...
By the time the humans disappeared, the brown wolf had made up his mind. He had to save it. A loud bang averted his attention. His bright eyes turned toward the direction of the sound. A little girl stood there, she had just knocked down a garbage can. The girl turned for help. There in the brown wolf's place, stood a boy. He ran a hand through his brown hair, his bright eyes wide in curiosity. His baggy clothes fit loosely around his body. Yet on his neck, was a silver collar...
"Hey, mister..."The little girl began, tears filling her eyes.
"Don't worry about it. Let the garbage guy pick it up,"The boy gave a big smile that made the girl grin back. She quickly thanked him, then ran off. The boy turned toward the building.
"Alright. Time to bust you out."
Hige rocks!! Yeah!! R/R! Hope you enjoyed!!
