Title: Love Lessons
Author: Henrietta
Rating: PG13. Aside from one bad word, it's not really any racier than what we've seen on the show.
Summary: Some lessons are harder than others.
Disclaimer: The characters in this story belong to Brenda Hampton, et al. The lyrics don't belong to me either.
Notes: This is my entry in the 2nd TWoP Lyric Wheel challenge. This story takes place early to mid season 6, before Matt got married on the first date.
"Lucy? Ruthie?" Matt called softly as he knocked on their door. Getting no answer, he pushed the door open slowly and entered. The room was in a typical state of disarray, which made his task all the more difficult. He rifled through the items on the dresser and desk and poked at the pile of clothing on the floor with his foot. Nothing.
Muttering quietly, he jogged down the back stairs into the kitchen. After checking to make sure no one was around, he rummaged through the cupboards until he found what he wanted. He tucked everything into his shirt and headed back up to his room.
"Sorry it took me so long," he said after closing the door. "You wouldn't believe how hard it is to find candles in this house. This was the best I could do." He set two stubby white candles on the bedside table and used a match to light them.
"It could be a little more romantic, but it'll be okay."
"Let's have a little music," Matt said as he reached over and turned the stereo on. Soft jazz music filled the room. Matt turned off the overhead light, leaving the room bathed in the soft glow of the candles.
"Mmm...that's nice."
Matt stretched his legs out on the bed and gently pulled his companion closer to him. She snuggled against his side, her head on his chest. They lay in silence for several minutes.
"It's okay to breathe Matt. You don't want to pass out before the good part."
"I...I'm fine," Matt stammered. "I just...I don't want to break the mood."
"There's not going to be any mood if you just sit there like a statue. Girls like it when you touch them."
"Okay," Matt replied quietly. He reached over awkwardly and stroked her hair.
"That's good. You just need to relax a bit."
He shifted position slightly and stroked the side of her face with his finger. Gathering his courage, he leaned over and kissed her quickly and with the lightest of touches.
"Not bad. Maybe a little deeper the next time."
Matt took a deep breath to calm his unsteady nerves and then kissed her again. The kiss was longer this time, and with more feeling.
"That's the way."
His confidence growing, Matt kissed her several more times. He held her in his arms and listened to the music. Wax dripped on the bedside table as the candles burned down into short stubs.
"What are you going to do next?"
"I...I..I can't," Matt sputtered.
"C'mon. It's easy"
"I... I really.. can't. It's not... those words are..." he stammered.
"Oh for God's sake Camden, just say it!"
"I'm gonna fuck you softly," Matt whispered. His face blushed a deep red.
"Now that's the ticket."
"Oh man, I can't...is that really what you have to say?" he asked.
"Sometimes you've got to say please," Robbie replied from his spot by the door, as he struggled to contain his laughter.
"Oh God, I can't do this." Matt sat up and threw the Hello Kitty to the floor.
"Matt, if you ever want to get anywhere with a girl, you're going to have to learn a few new words and phrases," Robbie smirked. "Also, it's not really a good idea to throw your date to the floor, unless you plan on following her."
Matt looked positively ill at the thought.
"Seriously man, just follow my advice and you'll be reeling in the ladies in no time," Robbie said. "Now pick up Hello Kitty and take it again from the top."

In deference to the rating, I'm not reprinting the lyrics here. The song Halcyon chose for me was "Fuck Her Gently" by Tenacious D
