Korra had been awake for a while, but she had stayed still in bed, from what she could tell Mako had been awake for much longer than she had. He was looking over some paperwork, his face scrunched up in a way Korra found adorable. He still hasn't noticed she was awake.

Her and Mako were currently staying in Asami's mansion in BaSingSae. Asami had moved here after King Wu had asked her to help design and construct a railway system in the Earth Empire. The couple were here meeting with King Wu about trouble he was having with some of the Earth Nation towns so Asami invited them to stay there for the time being. Luckily Asami's mansion was big enough to also house the several White Lotus sentries that had to follow Korra when she went around on Avatar business.

She never thought she would be here, especially not with Mako, they had been together for three years now. This was the happiest Korra had ever been. She was happy she was able to finally be with Mako, even from all the downfalls in the early stages of their relationship. But Korra couldn't help but hate that Mako was here, not because he was, but because of the circumstances under which he was allowed to travel with her.

Mako glanced over at her and noticed she was awake, "Good morning Ms. Avatar," he smiled.

"Good morning," she returned his smile, sitting up a little, "what time is your shift today?"

"Two, but I have to meet with the others at noon for another briefing,"

Korra nodded her head and stayed quiet, which was rare for Korra, usually she would have been asking why they needed to have so many briefings.

"Are you ok, Kor?" Mako asked, a little concern on his face.

"Yeah I've just been thinking, do you think you'd still be a sentry even if you hadn't met me?"

Mako set down the papers and thought for a second, "no," he answered.

Korra's face fell a little.

"But that's only because before I didn't feel the need to protect anyone other than Bolin. Now I have to protect you, too."

Korra nodded, but still didn't look completely satisfied with his answer.

"And I like being a sentry. I get to know you're safe at all times,"

"I can take care of myself," Korra mumbled

"I know you can, sweetie, but this gives me peace of mind, besides, I enjoy doing it, it's kind of like detective work anyway."

Korra looked down at her hands in her lap, quiet.

"Korra, what's wrong?" Mako was concerned now, Korra wasn't acting like herself and that was never a good sign.

"I just can't help but wonder if you made the right decision, I mean being part of the White Lotus isn't something you can just get out of, you made an oath."

"I know," Mako reached over to hold her hand, "I made an oath to protect the Avatar, and I will do so, for the rest of my life."

"But what if something happens. What if we break up, you'd still have to guard me, you'd still have to travel with me everywhere I went..."

Mako squeezed the hand he was holding and with his other hand grabbed her chin to make her look at him, "I know what I got myself into. I mean it when I tell you I love you, everytime," they were looking at each others eyes. Ocean blues lost in ambers, "and I'll continue to love you, always."
