Coffee

He sat in the same spot every day, his long brown hair covering his face, bright spice-brown eyes that just barely peek out from behind purple rimmed glasses. He always carried a tablet. For art, Onyx assumed, but also for writing, and reading. He seemed to hide inside the green jacket he always wore over his violet t-shirt, though he wasn't really shy. Just introverted. He seemed so serious, though on the rare occasions that he would smile, Onyx loved the way his eyes lit up, his lopsided grin revealing the gap between two of his teeth. He always ordered the same thing- large coffee, no sugar, no cream.

She wasn't a stalker. He just happened to leave at the end of her shift, and was heading in the same direction…

She walked, noticing after a while that he was heading towards a large building, though not the front door, but rather the side, a narrow alleyway. She wondered if he would sit and continue working. Instead, he jumped onto a narrow ledge, barely landing before leaping onto a ladder on the other wall. He climbed quickly before flipping onto the rooftop. Onyx stared or a moment. What the actual heck? What, was he a ninja or something?

She shook her head. That's crazy! Onyx ran over to the ledge, and found, to her releaf, that there were footholes along the wall. With much difficulty, she eventually climbed up to the rooftop. It was flat, grey, and empty.

"Dang it!" she hissed under her breath. She turned around to leave, jumping back in surprise when she nearly walked into him.

He didn't look angry just,… confused. "Were you following me?"

Onyx blinked. "I- um- " she racked her brain for the correct response to such a question, when he spoke again.

"Why?"

"I- s-sorry." She stuttered. "I- I." she sighed. "I just wanted to know where you were going."

"Why?"

"Because- um, because…. I-, You jumped onto a ROOF!"

"No, I mean, why me?"

"What?"

"Why did you follow me?"

"ISN'T IT OBVIOUS, DUDE?! COFFEE GIRL TOTALLY LIKES YOU!"

They both turned around to see a short, blonde boy in a green hoodie, standing on another building across the street. He waved at them.

The boy's face turned red. "What!? I- um, I-!" he stuttered, hands fidgeting.

"YA' KNOW MIKE, I BET YOU'RE RIGHT FOR ONCE!", another boy stood up next to the second, spiked red hair and a green t-shirt.

He looked even more flustered. "WHA-!? YOU GUYS ARE REAL JERKS, YOU KNOW THAT!" The other two just laughed. Onyx blushed.

"Well, they- um, they're right…" she mumbled, looking down at her feet.

"Wha-!?" he blushed even more, fidgeting with his hands before shoving them in his pockets and clearing his throat. "I mean, uh- you do?" he tried to sound nonchalant, but his already high-pitched voice went up a full octave as he stuttered. She nodded. "Oh. Um…"

"I see you every week, in the cafe, and I, um, you're just so cute." She sighed.

He was blushing so much he looked like a tomato. "Oh. Well, I-uh, I like you too… That was kinda the reason I went there every week." He looked down, shuffling his feet.

"OH, COME ON! JUST MAKE OUT ALREADY!" he turned around in alarm.

"RAPH! I WILL-" he was cut off when she really did kiss him. The two other boys shouted 'ew' before taking a picture. He turned around and leaped onto the other roof.

"OK, THAT IS IT!" he shouted before turning around and waving back at her.

She sighed. Maybe next week she would find out his name…
