The alarm clock was set to wake Clary up at the blue hour. Even though she had seen it before, nothing could have prepared her for the beauty of it. The walls were shining a crystal blue and the fountain was spilling out fresh water to help bless children's first weapons. She looked down at her codex, and started to read the inscriptions written by her, Simon, and Jace. She felt upset about returning to Idris after Sebastian, and felt even worse when she remembered how Simon, her parabatai, had to stay and train in New York.

Her red uniform was a size too small, and felt like one of the dresses Izzy made her wear. Her dorm was next to Jace's, and across from Izzy's. Alec was classed as an adult. He was an assistant in Mundane Behaviour. There was a pounding knock at her dorm, and then the light patter of somebody running away.

When she opened the door she saw a large plate of scrambled eggs. Assuming they were from Jace, she took them inside. She failed to see the note which read 'For you, my sister, on your very first day.''

The grand hall had been converted into a school, for Shadowhunters around the world. Jace and Izzy were already enrolled, but they waited for Clary to head off.

''Hey, thanks for the eggs!''Clary told Jace.

''What eggs?''Jace asked.

''The eggs you left outside my door today!Don't play dumb Jace!''

''Hmrff.''He grunted.

The school was bustling with new students and old, mixing and socialising. Clary could feel the icy stares being given to her. The whispers of Clary Morgenstern was so frequent it was like a track on repeat, playing with her head. She found her locker and looked inside. Jia Penthallow had left her timetable, and her electives inside. She looked through the list.

''Mundane Fashion? Demon-based sketching? What is this?''

''Yes. Alec helps in fashion, so i ruled that one out.''

''Well, im going to take that one then,''Clary stated as she strolled off, leaving a bemused looking Jace behind her. She was far to busy looking at her planner to notice Aline heading straight towards her.

''You're the Morgenstern, ain't you?''She asked, while Clary was laying on the floor.

''My name is Clary Fairchild. Call me by anything else and we have a problem.''

''A problem? Ha! No way! Just you wait! My little petty boy Jace will figure out who he really should be dating, and soon.''

''You will never have Jace!''

''Just you wait and see.''

Fashion was easy. We were learning about the 60's, and Professor Bane had the most amazing eyes. They were orange, and had eye-shadow in almost every colour blended in. I was paired up with a girl called Emma Carstairs, and we have to create an outfit and do the make-up for a mannequin. The best 60s outfit would get a free period.

Aline was waiting for me outside. She was with a boy who I recognised as Raphiel Santango, a vampire. He deliberatley spilt his drink all over her.

''MISS!''he screamed,''CLARY JUST TRIED TO ATTACK ALINE!''

''I di-di-didn't do anything.''

''Yes you did!''Aline screamed,''Look at my eye!''Her eye was black. Apparently Raphiel had given her a black eye as well.

''What the hell?''Clary whispered as she walked away from the scenario.
