A/N: Another drabble-y ficlet (new name for these thanks to bsloths). I guess you would have to assume the tradition is just to hang them not actually put gifts in them, and that the answer is yes. That's all I am going to say. Enjoy. R&R! Thanks! –Mac

Stocking Stuffer

It was Casey that started the tradition their first Christmas on their own. Derek hadn't been entirely enthused by the two matching stockings, each personalized with their names, hanging on their apartment wall. But this year he was thankful for the inspiration the tradition provided.

Christmas morning, when they came out of their room, Casey immediately headed for the kitchen barely giving the stockings a second glance.

Derek stopped in front of them and cleared his throat—drawing Casey's attention—then said, "I think Santa left you a present."

Casey started back toward him, a small smile on her lips as she approached the stockings. She reached into her stocking and pulled out a small box with a big red bow on top. She smiled at Derek as she slipped off the bow and opened the box. Her mouth fell agape at what was inside.

Derek dropped down on one knee, "Will you marry me?"
