A/N: This is a redone version of my original story. The original version was written very fast while I was on vacation and I had to hurry to post it as I didn't have much time. So yes, there were some typos (I have no beta TT) and everyone seemed to want more detail (my original version was meant to be more of a drabble). Anyway, I redid the story, added onto it, and corrected my spelling. Reviews on the new version would be nice. Little OOC, but then again, Sasuke falling in love is a little OOC in the first placeā¦But in any case, enjoy!
Summary: Redone Uchiha Sasuke left everything behind to leave and train with Orochimru, but most of all, he left her. He left Haruno Sakura. SasuSaku angst. Oneshot.
Walking On
By: CSI Battosai
Late one night, the moon seemed especially cold and lonely. The howls of the wolves in the distance and the trees swaying in the cool breeze could be heard; and the crying of a young kunouchi.
Crunch. Crunch. Crunch.
And Uchiha Sasuke walked on with a heavy heart, his sandals crunching in the gravel.
He left Kohona.
He left her.
He left Haruno Sakura.
It wasn't as if he would miss her.
It wasn't as if he would miss her laugh.
It wasn't as if he would miss her smile.
It wasn't as if he would miss her beautiful, soft pink hair.
It wasn't as if he would miss her kindness.
It wasn't as if he would miss her calling him "Sasuke-kun."
It wasn't as if he would miss her fiery, yet sweet attitude.
No. It wasn't like any of that.
...Yet it was exactly like that.
Her laugh. Her smile. Her hair. Her kindness. Her name for him. Her attitude.
He would miss her.
His mind screamed at him to go back, to stay in Kohona with her, but he couldn't do that.
Deep down he knew that one day he would come back. Back to Kohona. Back to her.
But Itachi had to pay for what he had done; there was no denying that. He needed to become much stronger faster than he could become in Kohona to achieve his goal.
With Orochimaru he could get that power quickly to avenge his clan: the moment he had been training for almost his entire life.
Maybe, just maybe, when he returned, Sakura would forgive him.
And maybe he could finally tell her that he didn't want to leave her.
Maybe he could tell her he missed her.
And Uchiha Sasuke walked on with a heavy heart, his sandals crunching in the gravel.
Crunch. Crunch. Crunch.
So? What do you think? Good? Bad? Reviews are always welcome!
And I'm currently in the process of writing several more Naruto fanfics so look out for those sometime soon. I'll probably post them the week after I get back from camp (I get back July 8), but it might be a bit sooner, so keep checking!
