Sally and Paul quietly unlocked the door and peeked into their living room.

The sight that met their eyes was their son, Percy, lying across their couch with Annabeth draped across him, the menu screen of some random movie playing soft music from their television. She was sound asleep, but he was awake, twisting her long, blonde curls around his fingers and smiling down at her still form. He still hadn't noticed his mother and stepfather standing at the doorway, watching the young couple with small grins that seemed to say I knew it.

Percy and Annabeth had just made it back from some dangerous quest that Sally was too afraid to ask about a few days earlier. Chiron had given them permission stay with Sally and Paul.

"As long as they are watched," Chiron had said with a wink when Sally had met with him to talk.

Percy and Annabeth had decided to have a movie night, seeing as Percy's parents had already planned to go and have dinner at a local restaurant since their wedding anniversary was in a few days. Percy had put in a movie of Annabeth's choice and settled down on their couch to watch it. Annabeth had fallen asleep halfway through the movie, but Percy didn't mind.

He continued to run his hands through her hair for a moment or two before he looked up, not being able to shake the feeling that he was being watched.

When he noticed his parents, he sent them a small smile and whispered quietly as not to wake up his sleeping girlfriend, "I am about to take her to my room. I'll sleep on the couch."

His parents shared a meaningful glance and silently agreed on something.

"You can both sleep on your bed, we trust you," Paul replied to his stepson's statement, sending him a smile. Percy nodded his thanks and shifted his girlfriend so he could stand. Paul and Sally silently moved into their room and pulled the door shut behind them.

Just before the door had closed, Sally looked over her shoulder and saw her son standing up, soothing the stirring young woman he softly cradled. Once the door was closed, Sally turned to look at her husband and found him watching her, smiling softly.

"Aren't they cute?" she whispered with a smile.
