The woman held up her hands imploringly, "Darling, please, put the gun down. No one needs to get hurt here..."
The man holding a silenced pistol shook his head, "Oh no. you had your chance to play nice, sweetheart." He said it sarcastically, with a sneer.
The woman continued to back closer and closer to the wall, "Your making a big mistake. Don't do this, I've never been with him, I swear..."
The other man chuckled, "I don't believe you, and it doesn't really matter anymore, does it? With what he did, the two of you might as well hung a neon sign above my bed: 'We're cheating on you!'" The man snorted, "you could at least have the respect to admit it in your final moments. I might decide to aim for your head as opposed to your heart."
The woman was against the wall now, "Darling..." The man straightened and pointed the gun at her in a more imperious manner, "Don't call me that. You can't call me that anymore."
The woman grimaced, "Please, I'm sorry... he's sorry too, I swear..."
The man laughed now, like a mad man, "He's sorry? HE'S SORRY!" The man closed the distance between them in an instant, his revolver was now firmly planted into her forehead, and she began to cry, "He should have the guts to say it to my face! Then maybe I'd have considered doing something less violent to express my displeasure!"
The woman was beginning to sink to the ground, but the man kept the gun trained on her, "But no, he didn't even stay. He's off in hiding somewhere, probably in that ugly ass house of his. He didn't even take you with him, or try to reason with me."
The man sighed, "I'd have listened to reason, you know. But he's ignoring me, and now I'm left with no one to blame but myself."
The woman wiped the tears from her face, "I really am sorry, you know." The man smiled, "I know that doll."
The woman smiled hopefully, "No hard feelings?"
The man pulled the trigger.
The shot was silent, and she died instantly. Her form was slumped against the wall, blood seeping from the wound in her forehead. The man sighed, "Yeah, doll. No hard feelings." He put his gun into his jacket pocket.
The man turned and walked over to the nearby desk, where three pictures sat. One was of the woman he had just killed. The other was of him and that same woman, smiling at a picnic. The third was of another man.
He picked up the picture of the other man, and smirked, "As for you, what I have planned is much worse than death..."
